SHOCKING RUDE BEHAVIOUR!!
There is only one Receptionist and her attitude, chip on the shoulder and level of customer service skills and behaviour is disgusting.
She won’t give anyone appointments and dismisses the phone.
I have been trying to get an appointment for 3 days and her response was you won’t DIE!!!!
I’ve asked her name to make a complaint and suddenly she doesn’t pick up my calls anymore
Dysfunctional Practice
I agree with people who comment. Don’t visit if you have other options.
Probably the worse surgery in London. You can't book appointments in advance, only on the day. Which means having to take a day off work to try to get an appointment.
Phoning on or before 8am and then be in a queue for up to 30 minutes, only to be told that there are no appointments available and to either try again in the afternoon or again tomorrow.
It's fine if you don't work and can spend the time every day sitting on the phone waiting to be offered something.
This is a new thing either this has been going on for years, even when you receive a letter from the surgery telling you the book an appointment, you can't get one.
I with be reporting this surgery to the ombudsman as it is failing in it duty of looking after its patients.
I’ve been here for blood tests a few times and two of the nurses are consistently rude and abrasive. They may be efficient administering the blood test but it’s not a pleasant experience if you’re at all nervous about needles, or have a child who’s about to have bloods taken by a nurse who seems cross or unfriendly.
I took my son for a blood test yesterday at the appointed time of 5.05pm. Due to social distancing the advice on attending GPs and clinics is to arrive on time for appointments, and not too early as there is no waiting inside. We arrived at 5pm, but the front door of the health centre was closed, with a sign saying blood tests were at the side of the building. It took a couple of minutes to find the right entrance as each clinic has a different door (children’s flu clinic etc), and it was hard to see the sign pointing down an alley to the car park in the dark. A sign said to wait outside until called, but no one came out so after a minute or two i went inside and called hello. A nurse came out of one of the rooms, led my son inside but in an agitated voice started telling me off for being late, saying we should have been there 5 minutes early, not late for the appointment as it was now 5.07pm! I was shocked at her tetchy manner but calmly explained we’d been on time, but it had taken a couple of minutes to find the right door, and she just said, ‘Oh.’ My son was already uncomfortable because he hates blood tests, but she had no bedside manner whatsoever, or consideration that she was dealing with a younger person. He later said it was the most painful blood test he’s ever had, possibly because It was a stressful experience. I didn’t mind that it had taken 35 mins queuing on the phone to book the appointment, nor that one wasn’t available for 3 weeks due to shortage in blood testing agent - in these covid-19 times i understand resources are stretched, but there is no reason to be rude and unpleasant. I’d have understood if it was busy, or we’d been late, but there was no one else there, and we were back in our car at 5.10pm so it felt completely uncalled for. If I had other local choices I’d not return here.
This surgery is the pits and should be boycotted. My wife is with this surgery and I am not. I can book an appointment with my GP in advance - at this surgery you can't do that, you have to call every day to see if an appointment is available at some time in the future? Why? Also my wife thought she had a UTI and asked for an appointment. She was flatly told this was not possible and advised to call her pharmacy who did them. She called the pharmacy and was told they don't do them. So she called back and was begrudgingly told to come in for a urine test, which took all all of 3 mins and then did confirm she had a UTI, for which she was then prescribed medication. So they lied to her initially on a possible serious matter. They should not be in business - they just don't care about their patients.
When they answer the phone they are very helpful. They are under resource though which isn't the staffs problem.
As a member of the community of Afro - Carribean heritage , I would like to say how Lee Health Centre on Handen Road has been an absolute pillar to the community.
The reason why I am sharing my experience is because throughout my health journey from beginning until present day the multi - disciplinary team at Lee Health Centre have demonstrated absolutely outstanding patient care .
They are a true asset to the NHS.
The team do not present any barriers to the standard of care they provide towards ethnic minorities groups.
The genuineness of the delivery of care is to the highest standard .
The clinicians and non clinical staff are always available to provide assistance and support at all times .
I am truly grateful
WONDERFUL TEAM :)
Been ringing for days and they never answer the phone. Went round the other day and no one there. Really really poor service.
