I arrived for my blood test and couldn’t find my appointment on the self sign in. A member of staff (didn’t catch his name) saw I was confused, he took me into his office saw that my appointment was actually next week (so completely my foolish fault!) but he made it so I could I have my blood test at that moment. Massive shout out for that as it was entirely my fault.
The test itself was painless and efficient. Would highly recommend having a blood test here if you want to feel cared about and enjoy efficiency.
Up until I walked into the Langthorne medical centre, I had a good image of the NHS, even if a few years before, in another city, I had been disappointed by the mental health support the NHS had provided me with, following a bereavement. I had had fantastic support from all the GPS and their staff wherever I had been, as a travelling healthcare assistant, who registered in many GP surgeries across the UK. I had also admired the NHS in the care I had observed, offered to the people I helped to support. Langthorne Medical Centre, particularly the Sharma branch, is very disappointing. I want to pay tribute to the very decent lady who gave me a smear test there, once upon a time. Apart from this experience, whether it be the very rude, seemingly bitter secretary whom I think others are mentioning too in reviews, or the nurse who shouted at me for not knowing how to use the machine to check my blood sugars, and the two GPs I met there, this place helps to entrench the view that the NHS is not as good as those who have turned it into a State religion opine. After this series of bad experiences prompted me to start getting private healthcare in countries which rate higher than the UK, I read a great deal about World healthcare. I would probably have felt that the UK didn't deserve to occupy the measly rank of 30th for its healthcare system, had there not been Langthorne and a moment of soul searching. I had from this particular experience to confront the fact that a country which had the second highest rate of obesity population in Europe, and the unhappiest children, certainly had issues with its healthcare. My country of birth ranks higher than the UK on almost all the rankings I have come across, though I experienced a terrifying experience with an obviously racist ophtalmologist there. Luckily, I can go to my country of birth, so can if he wishes my husband to be, who was under no illusion about the NHS, even as I defended it when we first met.
Having lost loved ones to what can be called NHS negligence, gave him the right to warn me. I wish I I had listened. Then again, had I listened, would I have found out for myself, the truth about the NHS, and decided to reach for the stars, in countries where healthcare is valued, irrespective of the government in place. Hopefully, for those who can't do otherwise, the incoming Labour government will implement policies which will finally make the NHS a healthcare system worthy of a country with such a sense of its own self importance. Thank you Langthorne for your mediocrity which helped save my life no doubt. There are enough people reporting similar experiences, especially with receptionists, that I know I can never be accused of making up what was aimed at me in this surgery. Hoping that I would lash out back at the nurse, so that I could be sectioned was very unwise. I always knew the specific hostility that simmered under every interaction I had there. Thank you enormously for helping me to go on the medical tourism train which has enabled me to see even more of the beautiful World that exists out there.
Cheerio.
Appointment on time. Very good phlebotomist no pain at all. Little misunderstanding, and this time I was kicked out by member of staff. " No photos here, good bye !! ,well I wasn't filming them, just premises.
I been send by My GP today 9.11.23before lunch time at this clinic to have My blood test, as soon I arrive in the clinic I follow the sign for the blood test and I was the third to go in ( blood test area front of the door) , already a Women got inside for the blood , a walk in no appointment on Her name , front of Me another old Man, He been refuse to be attended for blood test as they were already in the break lunch , and that been 2 seconds after first women got inside .
I hear it and it was very clear, Me I decide to wait on the chair from 12:49 until 13:15 that they will back opening the door, in the same second I took a seat, they can even check the CCTV , a man with gray hair very short : could be alegarian, marrocan, wearing a t-shirt with : blue , green and one o two white strip and the badge on his neck of NHS, He was maken his way out of the the blood test room thowards of the exist area, talking to his colleagues that He finish and He wount be able to say to people that are outside that is close and without appointment nobody will be seen, meanwhile He was walking from the door, He came thowards Me saying that I cannot be taken as they don't recive walk-in, I had 4 papers in My hands and I stand up and I show Him that My GP send Me here and if the stamp and signature means something and if they colleagues could recive Me today, I can wait as long is need it.
HE stopped Me meanwhile I explained the situation and that was seconds not more and 30 seconds, He said He finish and He can't help Me, in that moment I say : ok , fare enough, then you should not have not telling nothing and I heard earlier that they will re-open at 13:15, I'm ok to wait. Because I amswear Him exactly the same words, He walk inside of the blood test room and from the entrance saying to His colleagues: DO NOT RECIVE THIS WOMEN ANYWAY NOT TODAY NOT NEVER very aggressive He pushed Me from the door , on the CCTV CAN BE SEEN.
That's wrong what He said and done , for another 15 minutes He was arguing with his colleagues and I was completely quite, speechless on the chair , how can such a rude and mental change someone can work in NHS, I was shocked and I made My way to Main reception of the clinic and I let Him to shout alone as I saw He wasn't mentally fit.
I request to the Reception women to help Me clear the situation: either they will re-open today o they will be receiving walks-in, and i explained Her the situation of the histerical Man , and what papers I'm carrying, She came in a blink of the eye very quick with Me, she saw the Man still shouting and very agresive coming from that room. In that moment we both Me and the Receptionist we walk away as He was shouting at his colleagues to don't recive Me specially.
She requested Me to call and fill up the complaint form against Him, and she mention that they will throw the Complaint form away and no SUPERIORS WILL SEE IT , and is better to call and write a review.
Is shame how the Manager in charge of this clinic can accept the behavior He gives to people who come there asking for help and we place out hopes and trusted them with all our life's and the pay back from them is a rude, agresive, arrogant and isterical, people who is traumatizing us for life.
I'm sure I'm not thr first neither the last, and I hope that superiors of the MANAGERS of this clinic will be able to see the CCTV and this review and to place that man where He belong into a psychiatrist clinic to recover from His trauma and put Him under discipline to learn how to speak and deal with people , not taken advantages of the badge of NHS and abuse the people.
With my sincere regrets, I have called My GP I explained them and I refuse to give My blood test in this clinic and I have requested a new location .
Very sad, shame and very disappointed after I have supported every strike of NHS.
Please do not treat other patients that way I been treated and scared today by that Man.
Worst place, I had an appoitment for my son for a 2years old check, even though the appoitment was around 2year and 4months, when I was in this centre i even had to wait 1hour pass the appointment, such a bad customer service. I would avoid this place if i can.
Very friendly and efficient, reliable staff. Always go the extra mile to sort things out with the surgery if needed.
Arrived early for a blood test today (booked via Swiftqueue), easy automated check-in, was seen very quickly and even before my appointment time. The nurse taking my blood was friendly and it was the most painless blood test I've ever experienced. Wouldn't hesitate to come here again next time I need a test.
Had an appointment for blood test at 9.50, on arrival had a very easy to use self check in,was called in at 9.52 the lady who did my bloods was lovely and very quick, more importantly painless and very understanding of my needle phobia.
There was plenty of parking space when i arrived will definitely use this centre again.
