Quite possibly one of the worse cups of coffee and cake I've had in years.
Coffee tasted like dishwater and the treacle tart like it had be in storage for several years.
It appears that even though there was 7/8 staff, none of them have ever cleaned out the coffee machine, made a real cake before or just generally thought about running it as a lovely cafe.
I wouldn't mind if the prices where decent, but £5 for a ham toasted sandwich, when it probably have been made of Tesco basic bread and cheapest ham..
it was like going back 20 years, when cafes where just a greasy spoon with reluctant customer service, not a place to sit and enjoy a coffee / tea and enjoy the surroundings
Popped in for a coffee, also had a toastie, both very nice, although the coffee was warm rather than hot. Service for the toastie was a little slow, but not drastically so. It seems to be one of those places that you need to choose your moment, at some points very busy, at others pretty quiet.
I was hoping for a nice oat milk coffee on a drizzly day but they still only have soya, and I think they still only use it to top the drinks rather than use it to make a latte for example. There's a £5 min card spend so I needed to get something to nibble too but there wasn't anything vegan except a small packet of bourbon type biscuits which my friend pointed out, and the server didn't know about any of the fresh goods. I ended up having to buy a bottle of drink too to make up the value.
In summary, it's better than nothing on a cold day and I'm sure if you were sitting in for a meal you'd find more, but for takeaway hot drinks and snacks, especially non-dairy, it's pretty limited.
Nice place to sit have a cuppa and food
A wide variety of snacks both hot and cold along with lots of different beverages , tea , coffee , soft drinks .
Staff friendly and helpful and a clean and safe environment
Great range of ice-cream, nice choice of cones. Range of cakes, not the best taste but ok. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fabulous park to look at and walk around before/after.
Went there for breakfast today and had possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had. The eggs were awful and had white liquid coming from them because they were so undercooked. However, they also looked dirty on the plate and when I spoke to the staff they did nothing, not even offering a refund. The cook was argumentative and thanked me for the compliment, finding it amusing. Will never return!
Went for a burger, Ice cream and cheese on chips. The chips came without cheese, all food in cartons whilst other people had there’s put on a plate. There was no utensils or sauces. The chips for my daughter had no cheese on which was remedied but not melted, as it’s always been melted before. Just grated cheese dumped on top, they wouldn’t melt it, when i asked them too. Which is very bad customer service, even after I told them my daughter, who has food sensitivity due to her autism wont eat unless melted. Pretty cheeky seen as they did not get the order correct in the first place. They should have made a fresh batch with melted cheese, as expected and put all food on plates. Over priced food and bad customer service. It’s a shame, as used to be a good place.
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff.
The only thing that was disappointing was that they don't offer soya milk alternative as a lot of people can't tolerate dairy products nowadays.
Didn't have anything to eat, but they do have a varied menu. Lots of different varieties of ice cream.
There's outdoor seating for when it's nice and a take away option especially if you have a four legged friend with you. Nice seating in the café. I would say that it's good for all ages.
