My car’s clutch was broken on the way to Whinfell Forest Center Parcs on 21 Dec. AA recovery kindly sent my car to AA approved garage “Lakeland Car Centre” in the evening. The following day was the garage's last working day before Christmas. I worried about whether my car can be fixed on time.
I met the manager in early morning, he was very kind and helpful. He asked his technician to check my car and kept me updated on the progress. They worked very hard and got my car fixed before lunch time. It was very impressive. Great service!
Avoid Lakeland Car Centre at all costs. Following my car being recovered there after a breakdown, it was there for months. Absolute lack of communication and I spent a lot of my time chasing them. Ultimately my car was moved to a dealership who discovered Lakeland Car Centre had fitted second hand injectors that were rusty and had failed, but had charged me for brand new ones. When I queried this with them their story kept changing and they were forced to pay for the dealership to fix the problem they had caused. Nothing was ever their fault.
Their absolutely brilliant - honestly, professionalism and value. Informed us of fault caused by another garage, rectified the problem and serviced the vehicle, runs superb. Thanks to Steve and the team ????
RAC brought me here last minute in a Friday when we broke down halfway down from Scotland to the south coast. These guys pulled out all the stops to fit us in and get us back on the road. Even took me into to the garage to explain what they had to do to fix the car. I don't review often but this is a well deserved 5 stars.
My car had a meltdown on the m6 evening on Wednesday. the RAC were great and towed us to Steve. He was organised, helpful and brilliant communication. He explained the problem clearly and sorted it out as quickly as possible, and we were back driving the next day! I cannot thank him and his staff enough
Alternator packed up on the M6, rescued by the RAC Who arranged for Steve to take my car in. He had sourced a new part when we arrived but had to wait for next day delivery. Car fixed before lunch the next day, great service and friendly too. Would have no hesitation in using them and recommending to anyone.
Whilst on holiday and staying the other side of the lake a fuel leak was a disaster over a bank holiday. The RAC came out but could only suggest getting the vehicle to Lakeland. Achieved on the first day after the holiday I did not expect Steve to do more than look at the problem. He did more, assessing the problem, getting the part, fitting and road testing to get me back on the road. Meanwhile Jenny in Reception was extremely helpful and hospitable. Thank you indeed for rescuing our holiday.
Had my car over 4 months, no communication despite calling continuously, to be told the part for my car is unavailable and to send in my logbook so the car can go for scrap but its ok because the money for the scrap will cover labour costs. I'm not sure hooking the car up to the diagnostic computer that takes 5 minutes even constitutes as mechanic labour, absolutely appalling service or lack of!
