We stayed here last year under different ownership, this year completely blew us away. Ro and Anita are superb hosts that couldn't do enough for us. Ro is a biker himself so understands the need of secure parking and bike gear storage. We stayed in the cottage which has a fully equipped kitchen. Continental breakfast is provided, fresh croissants, baguettes, cheeses and meats. Coffee is plentiful which is good as I'm not awake until I've had at least 3 cups. ||The bar is fantastic, so much to see and plenty of drinks at very reasonable costs. It's a great location for exploring the area. I really can't find any fault with La Tringale, I would happily visit again. Outstanding and welcoming hosts, cannot recommend enough
My husband had visited here previously, but we knew there were new owners.||Things have changed, but all things do.||The previous owners offered more of a full board basis (from what I am told): the property is now more B and B, although I think they may offer one or two evenings food if you pre agree with them (pasta, burgers or chilli were mentioned).||That was our only issue, but our own fault for assuming without asking.||Continental breakfast provided, lots of coffee and we never felt rushed.||We ate out and also cooked a bit, there are local shops within a reasonable distance, Le Malay Mittry isn’t far, but be aware that most places had limited hours 10-12 for lunch and after 7 for dinner and few shops were open on a Sunday.||Good location for touring, we were looking at a lot of the WW2 exhibits, Bayeux isn’t too far a drive either.||Anita and Ro are the owners, they made us feel very welcome. Very approachable and friendly.||There are still drinks available to buy, wine, beer, soft drinks and there is a bar that Ro has redesigned and redecorated, lots of artefacts and memorabilia, a few bikes, signs, Betty Boop, quite bright decor but we liked it.||All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
From the moment we arrived we couldn't have been made more welcome. |We travelled with a group of friends on motorcycles, some of the group had visited before when the property was under previous ownership but we had not.|The accommodation is clean, comfortable and has all the equipment you could need. If something isn't available Ro and Anita do their best to provide it.|Breakfast is continental style including bread, croissants, meats, cheeses and fruit. Its both plentiful and tasty.|The Bar is an experience in itself, so much to look at and everytime you look you see something you've not noticed before. |This is a beautiful property, in a rural location but amenities are within a few miles. It's ideally located for visiting the Normandy beaches and memorials. Bayeux is not far away.|It was nice that Ro is a mororcyclist and understands the needs of bikers, including secure parking and shelving to store helmets and kit.|It's difficult to find any downsides but if I was being really picky the gravel driveway isn't great on a bike but it's quite compacted and wasn't really too much of an issue.
Stayed at La Tringale for 3 nights and was abosolutely blown away with how good it was. Andy and Jill are the most welcoming, attentive hosts I have ever met and the accommodation is spotlessly clean and very roomy. We had the the pleasure of dining with them each night as we were the only guests over the weekend, and despite never meeting them before, it was like chatting to a couple of friends over dinner. They even drove us to the local Pub on the 1st night to welcome us and meet the locals! They love hosting and chatting all things bikes and cars and Jill's cooking is just fabulous. The accommodation is also an ideal base to explore all of the Normandy WW2 sites. Can't wait to return with a few more friends!
Returned for a second stay at La Tringale with friends after a break of 5+ years and it was just as impressive as I remembered. The continental breakfast is far superior to what you typically get in French B& Bs and the hosts are both welcoming and attentive. The puddings are worth the evening meal on their own; the bar is perfect for mixing and chilling out after a days riding. In an excellent location to explore the region on a bike as a group or solo. Looking forward to next visit already. ||Highly recommend, especially if you're a biker.
Beautiful farmhouse and gite run by Andy and Jill. Close to D Day beaches and situated up a quiet lane in beautiful countryside. I stayed with my wife and two teenage children for a week and we had a great stay. Andy and Jill are perfect hosts, we had dinner in the farmhouse on the night of our arrival and the food was excellent. Jill is a great cook. There is even a bar above a barn.||Andy has a collection of motorcycles which he was happy to show me. During our trip the weather was very hot and the air con started playing up on my old Subaru. Andy is very handy with cars and offered to take a look. We found a fix online and after an hour or so with the help of his friend Pete he had fixed the problem and the air con worked perfectly. This was after the Subaru dealer in England told me I needed a new a/c compressor that would cost a grand plus VAT for the part- so he saved me being mugged by the UK dealer.||A perfect base for touring Normandy and the Normandy beaches and I would throughly recommend this place
La Tringale is set in a lovely, peaceful location. Jill and Andy are perfect hosts and will think nothing of going out of there way to help you. We stayed in a gite which was immaculate, well laid out and roomy. There are a lot of bikers who return time and time again and you can understand why once you have visited. La Tringale along with the gites also offers B&B, there breakfasts are tasty with locally sauced food and homemade jam's and chutneys. You can in addition to breakfast book an evening meal at an extra cost and we had a traditional roast dinner which was served as a three course meal. |Wish I had more time of work to stay here and spend more time visiting the Normandy landmarks. La Tringale is in a perfect location just outside of Bayeux and central to visiting many tourist attractions.|I would recommend all to visit and enjoy - families and bikers|
