Great little fish & chip shop. All cooked fresh to order. Portions are a good size, couldn't finish my fish & chips, and that doesn't happen very often. Best in Tadcaster for sure.

2nd visit. Good fryday fish & chips. Great service, good sized portions, piping hot, freshly fried. Can't fault any aspect of Kirkgate Fisheries. Best chippy in area by far.

Ordered the haddock and peas and it was lovely. They are really generous portions so I skipped the chips this time. (Just get one portion of chips if there are two of you!) The batter is light and reminded me of proper 'seaside chippy!' Excellent.
First visit whilst working in the area from Nottingham.. Extremely friendly staff, piping hot lovely chips and plenty of them . The most unique and best fish cake I think I`ve ever had and overall excellent value at just over a fiver. Couldn`t fault the food or service.
You can pre order which saves waiting. Lovely fish and chips and good portions. Curry sauce and battered sausage are a favourite with teenagers.

On holiday in York and finding all the local eateries booked for valentine's we went to a local chippy. Turned out to be a great option. Service was friendly, cheery and quick. Fish was very well cooked with lovely crispy batter. Chicken burger was enjoyed by our teen (best ever she said ????). Excellent chips. All in all great food and good value
