I’m sorry to say that the food didn’t live up to the menu description, even after complaining it still wasn’t right. No quinoa or pine nuts, and very little dressing. Too much rocket, and the halloumi was only cooked on one side. Then a second waitress asked if the food was okay, so I explained again and was offered a pudding. I won’t be having the pudding and I won’t be coming back.
We arrived early for a group meal and were allowed to the table and offered drinks. The food was really tasty and promptly delivered to the table. Nice atmosphere with quirky decorations.
Really great place to eat at. This is now one of my local restaurants and I will definitely love to come here again. Maybe in the spring summer as I've only visited in winter.
Roast was delicious, it was a proper roast dinner. I had the nut roast (if your not vegan you can ask for a Yorkshire pud too) and my other half had the lamb (sorry I couldn't get a photo of that) which looked amazing! Good roast potatoes but to make it perfect I would love fluffy roast potatoes, not so perfect looking. More gravy is always a good thing too.
Unfortunately I didn't get to try deserts but I will next time!
I love the decorations and the fire pit in the center. It was busy at 3pm but not too loud, just a nice atmosphere
Exquisite Dining Experience with a Scenic View!
My recent dining experience at Kingfisher on the Quay was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant's picturesque location on the quay, combined with ample outdoor seating, sets the perfect ambiance for a delightful meal. Despite the rainy weather during my visit, the cozy interior provided a warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the orange and pistachio crème brûlée – a true masterpiece that left my taste buds singing with joy. Each spoonful was a perfect blend of creamy indulgence and vibrant flavours. I can only imagine how much more enjoyable it would be to dine here on a sunny summer day, overlooking the quay. With its fantastic food and stunning setting, Kingfisher on the Quay has secured a spot on my list of must-visit restaurants. Can't wait to return for another memorable experience!
Great atmosphere and very clean. Great atmosphere and nice and warm for the cold weather. The outside looks like it will be amazing in the summer. My only criticism would be that the sizes seemed a little small on the main meal but it was a good food none the less.
Chicken, leak and ham pie was delicious. Nice portion size and plenty of gravy. Good selection of drinks.
Warm atmosphere with plenty of decking space to look over the lake in the summer.
Given we had a party of 20+ people the service was very good and efficient.
Would recommend this pub.
Prices were reasonable too.
Absolutely stunning place!! Me and my mum aren't from the area we had a day at car chase heros which built up quite a apatite so had a little Google search and found this place!!
The pictures on Google does it no justice. We arrived and was like wow!! ???? Stunning place.
Staff were welcoming as we walked in we didn't pre book and they gave us a table by the window which looks over the water ???? bet it's stunning in the summer!
Food was delicious ???? the lamb shoulder literally melted in your mouth ????????
And the pudding biscoff cheesecake ????????
Will definitely be back when we come back into the area!!
Thank you!!
Fabulous service from Charlie the waitress looking after our every need. Lovely setting by the lake with a very cosy interior on this wet rainy Sunday afternoon. Loved the decor especially the modified washrooms. ????????
