Best KPortal Reviews
Kings are devoted to providing quality food at a high standard of kashrut. While chiefly a bakery, they provide coffee and soup and a small dining area inside and outside. They are especially concerned about waste, and eagerly distribute to charities at the end of the day
Nice people but not the best bread in the world. I went in the morning (8.45) asked for a poppyseed chala. The woman behind the counter's hand passed over about three, and she gave me the next.
I had a strange feeling that she had chosen that one on particular for some reason. After I bought it, I felt it (it was wrapped in plastic) and it did not feel fresh. I went back in and asked the woman if it was. She said she had to ask the owner. He said it was.
I got home and tried it and I can tell you 100 percent it was NOT baked that morning. It was baked the previous day. I know what fresh chala tastes like and this wasn't it. This has happened before but this time enough is enough. I won't buy there anymore.
I've had tuna mayo sandwich in bagles I have sick all day please needs the check what's that made of
The younger lady serving me was really nice, she offered me a challah with the soup, which came to £5. However when I was waiting for my soup there was loads of ants in the shelving glass where all the food was. All the ants where going in the food. After I got given my soup I found out it was freezing cold and then seeing the ants put me off my soup so I just threw it away… unfortunately I really was not impressed and I hate writing reviews like this but from seeing the ants and all, it really made me worry about there health and safety and cleanliness. Because of this unfortunately I wouldn’t come back
Delicious pastry, bread and biscuits and fresh sandwiches, friendly staff
Astonishingly poor customer service. This morning, I bought 4 bagels for a work lunch. Bad start - I was served by a member of staff who was talking on her phone at the same time. Realised at lunch that all the bagels were extremely dry, to the point of inedible. Took the one completely uneaten bagel back the same afternoon to show them. Informed the bagels weren't even made by them, instead they bought them in from a place down the road. Offered replacements by the same person who served me in the morning. When I said I no longer needed them, I was offered a full refund. Unbelievably, the grumpy manager over-ruled her and said I was only entitled to a refund for one bagel because I only brought one back! When I argued that it was unreasonable to expect me to return all of them, he wouldn't budge. I suggested my family and I would take our business elsewhere, pointing out we have been loyal customers for a very long time. His response: 'bye-bye'. I asked for his name: 'bye-bye'. If I could put 0 stars, I would. You've just lost thousands of pounds, all for the sake of less than £2. 'Bye-bye' to you King's - never again!
Cupcakes were SO stale and hard that I'm sure they were baked months ago and have been sitting there ever since, not to mention gross tasting. We threw all 4 away. How hard it it to get a cupcake right?! The rugelach? Surprise surprise also bad. Threw both away also. Smoked salmon bagel was edible. Moral of the story? Go to the co op across the road instead. Absolute waste of money.
Unfortunately the beigels here are NOT beigels. Clearly haven't been boiled.
Like a dry bread roll.
Bought some of their biscuits too..
These were dry and really quite old.
Won't come back
