Nice to see if driving by however, not that exciting nor stunning.
Just a very touristy easy accessible attraction.
Superb and spacious parking ????️???????? 0,5 mile/800 m to the castle ruin ???????? In one corner of the parking, there’s a popular food truck ????????????as well as availability to toilets.
Located next to a railway track and a beautiful lake ????️????️????????

Such a beautiful castle to visit and walk around the grounds. Lots of room in the carpark. Even on a rainy day it was still stunning. No bins so be prepared to take your rubbish home. Lots of benches for sitting and eating.
Beautiful is all I can say, the beauty of this spot is beyond words
The casle is fenced off due to the disrepair of the castle, but you can still get up close
There is plenty of parking and about a 10 minute walk from the car park, I'm a slow walker so it may only be 5 minutes
The path is in excellent condition and completely flat
The scenery is amazing, makes you realise how small we are
There is highland cattle in a nearby field
The views down loch awe are stunning, it's a nice spot to sit and contemplate
The casle is ruins but it's huge
Overall I highly recommend a visit here, its free and plenty of free parking
I also recommend a visit 5 minutes further up the road heading in the direction of oban sits st Monans kirk it's amazing and free with a cafe on site
Big free car park. Randomly you actually CAN stay overnight for £10 charge per vehicle which will be collected by car park warden. Not sure who owns or operates it.
Great snack bar and good prices owners watch this place all the time to take care of grounds no drones allowed but fantastic old ruin
