Amazing all-you-can-eat breakfast!
Kerala Hut really reminded me of home cooking - delicious food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Everything was top-notch, and the price (£8.99 per person) was unbeatable! Highly recommend for anyone in Luton looking for a great breakfast experience.
So, we had this massive celebration at Kerala Hut today. There were 10 of us adults, and we went all out, ordering almost everything from the menu. Let me tell you about our experience:
First off, the service was top-notch. There was this girl named Sruthi who took our orders, and she was a lifesaver. With all of us being super hungry and indecisive, she helped us figure out what to get and even managed the chaos when we changed our minds a hundred times. Despite the place being packed, they got our food out quick.
Now, onto the grub:
• Paalkappa: 10/10, absolute perfection.
• Fish Pollichath (we got Avooli): 9/10, it hit the spot.
• Frog fry: A bit of a surprise, but worth a try. Can’t rate it though, it’s been ages since I had it.
• Pothi Biriyani (chicken): A solid 10/10, just like the good old traditional nadan biriyani. The rice was spot on, and it was just the right amount for two.
• Beef Erachi chor: Didn’t quite taste authentic, too much mint flavor for my liking. 7/10.
• Kappa biriyani: Pretty darn delicious, I’d give it a solid 9/10.
• Beef coconut fry: Not what I expected. The beef was too hard and didn’t have the usual flavor. 6/10.
• Beef dry fry (starter): This was the highlight for me, better than any other beef dish. A solid 10/10.
• Chicken lollipop (starter): Good stuff, a perfect 10/10.
• Chattichor (fish): A bit too much rice, but it hits the spot if you’re craving it. Decent enough, I’d say 7.5/10.
• Prawns curry: Not too spicy, more on the sweeter side with lots of tomato flavor. Not bad if you like milder curries. 7.5/10.
• Kakka irachi: Traditional Kottayam style, and I loved it. Best eaten with Kerala porotta. 9/10.
Overall, a fantastic experience with some minor hiccups in the food, but Sruthi’s service definitely made up for it. She’s a gem and would be a great addition to the team.
Kerala Hut in Luton is a delightful gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine. The ambience of the restaurant transports you straight to the heart of Kerala with its warm, inviting decor and traditional music that sets the perfect mood for a culinary adventure.
The Kizhi Parotta is a standout dish, a flaky, layered flatbread that’s cooked to perfection and served with a side of spicy, flavorful curry that complements it beautifully. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant.
Another highlight is the Chatti Chor, a rich and aromatic biryani cooked in a traditional clay pot, which seals in all the flavors and spices, resulting in a dish that’s both comforting and exotic.
Overall, Kerala Hut offers a fantastic dining experience with its combination of delicious food, lovely ambience, and friendly service. It’s a place that’s definitely worth visiting for anyone in the Luton area looking for a taste of Kerala.
The best i have had in couple of months.. The staffs was soo friendly especially pattrick bro.. should definitely try the beef it was ????????.the dishes had a good quantity and are cheap compared to other shops..will definitely be back to try more of the menu
We came to Kerala hut with great expectations and we weren’t disappointed!! We had a taste of everything, but the Kizhi Porotta, beef fry and adbhutha biriyani stood out. The service was fast too. I felt bad for Patrick!, he was working alone serving, taking orders and accounting and it was a quite busy day in a decent sized restaurant. I hope the management appreciates his dedication. We would definitely come back again soon. Highly recommended for authentic Kerala food.
One of the Best South Indian restaurant in Luton. Best ambience spacious seating. Food was tasty and reasonably priced.
If you looking for fine dining kerala restaurants in Luton town , this is place you should choose.
Special mention to Sooraj and Angel -friendly and they know their customers.
toilet needs improvement and requires cleaning more often.not up to the standard compare to dining area.
There is a lot of variety Kerala as well as other cuisine food to choose from.
Tastes good.
Service could be a bit better.
Right in the city centre, so you'll have to find your own parking.
Was very busy inside but does have plenty of seating as well as a bar.
We were recommended Kerala Hut in Luton by a cousin who absolutely loved the food and falooda there. So we decided to try it and I must admit he was right! Very authentic Kerala food, spicy and a lot of variety. The staff is very sweet and gracious specially Angel who looked after us that evening!
The fruit juices are freshly made there which we really appreciated. We tried Chattichoru and pothichoru and the kids shared Kerala porotta and their special chicken curry. It was delicious, although I felt the sambhar was a little bland, but it was okay because the rest of the food including the appetizer clams fry was very spicy.
Definitely try out this place if you are in a mood for some good Kerala food.
