Pleasant cashier. First time trying the mince scotch pie annnnnddd I would still prefer a nice pepper steak pie????just preference though. Lovely town.

Very nice decor and service in this café. I had a good cooked breakfast with square sausages and a tattie scone.
This has to be the most expensive cafe I have been to that provides the lowest quality food. My partner and I had a jacket potato and a small pie, with two cupcakes. £24 and the jacket potato was a frozen potato and absolutely tiny for £8 served with some wilted lettuce and stale crisps. The cupcakes were so dry we couldn't eat them, not sure if they were just left out for several days. There seems to be a nicer bakery around the corner we wish we saw first.
Never usually write reviews but I visited today and felt the level of customer service was non existent. I understand it's a hard time for all but a friendlier reception wouldn't have gone a miss and that ordering items (buying my lunch) is not putting the staff to a massive hassle considering that's their job role. I literally ordered 5 items. On the pkus side, the food was delicious!
Absolutely fantastic had my partner and brother in law here, as soon as you walk in the door all staff can't do enough to make you welcome. I struggle to hold a small cup, so staff gave me another with a better handle, we each had the mega breakfast which was very tasty and value for money with a beverage refill included. Decor is really we thought out, tables a little small but manageable, any one about the area highly recommend.
Little bakery and lunch shop. Stopped in for a cookie/pastry and tea. Wonderful!
