Loved everything about this shop all fresh cooked and great service. Well worth a visit.
Past review about burger not true as I had one and cooked on hot plate
Even asked the owner and nothing microwaved at all. Fresh produce from butchers.
Cut long story short I've given 5 stars as quality chippy.
I've read a few reviews on this chippy and I have to say my experience was first class all round. The fish was to die for not had s fish of that quality from any Chipshop in ages. Great menu with lots of variety and food is well cooked. This has to be one of the best chip shops around, as for shop it's the cleanest one I've seen I've read a few other reviews on this shop and totally disagree with them price wise it's on par with all other chip shops I've visited, but this shop seems to use quality products either that or they just cook them better. This is now my number one chippy so if your on the lookout for a good chippy tea get down to joes. Next time I'm trying the beef it sounds delicious.
Paid nearly £16 to not be given our drinks and a jumbo sausage - ended up with chips peas and gravy & chips and a pie with a coke for nearly £16, rip off to get all the way home and not even have the food i ordered which wasn’t even a complex order to start with, first & last time I go here - pregnant as well and all I wanted was a sausage ridiculous
Have had several meals of average quality from here before but after eating food from there yesterday me and my partner are very very ill. I can only assume that Joes Traditional Fish & Chips are to blame as this was the only meal that we have eaten together in the previous 24 hours.
No haddock on friday night? Forgot to ask for peas on side so had chips and fish on a bed of peas! Should have known better being in Wigan. Hot, good batter, really tasty and a good portion.
Called on Saturday 8th August 2015 ordered the special Gourmet burger with chips and onion rings and 2 chip barm cakes. Got home I bit into the burger and found plastic at the bottom of the burger that was all shrivelled up so must have been put in the microwave. I rang the chippy and the lady said bring back the burger but we live in ashton, All that she said was sorry. But this should not happen for a chippy, as it was not busy and burgers should be made to order and not microwaved. Very bad....
Just got a steak and kidney pudding and think I had throw it a life jacket, was drowned In gravy.
The young girl looks like a new member of staff and some mistakes are acceptable but honestly she didn't shut my tray right so when I got home some of it fell straight out of the tray and the gravy was to the brim.
Fish tasteless, peas tasteless, chips must have been fried yesterday. Women forgot to put the sausage in we paid for, due to too much attention paid to some guys in the shop.
