Properly disappointing.
£8.30 for a poor plate of food. The plate itself was the best part of it.
The Brunch had a fully cooked and flat poached egg, the bacon so dry the knife and fork couldn't cut it, basic quality sausages, basic bread that was 'buttered' with 20mm of dry edge all round, the mushrooms were bone dry.
The chips were good as was the tiny coffee that I had. I would have loved to have bought the actual plate the food came on.
Service was poor as the teen girl on duty was more bothered to chat in the kitchen.
The place was clean and inviting but it's a lot of money for a basic offering.
Delicious poached eggs, good coffee, fast service , fair prices, relaxing atmosphere.. The ladies working in the café were very lovely and accomodating.
Super friendly staff, good value food, quickly served but not rushed.
Been several times and will go again soon :)

I have been a regular customer at Jessie's for years and have never seen people having to wait 15 minutes to be served, or anyone being gaslighted. Nor do regulars like myself get served before people already there. The staff are always conscientious, care about their customers and are extremely friendly. In fact, the whole place has a happy, friendly atmosphere.
Favourite place for breakfast, always great food and relaxing atmosphere, staff are friendly and helpful.
I've been a customer at Jessie's for a long time now. They never disappoint the food is amazing aswell as the staff & atmosphere. I have never seen any regulars get served before people who are already there. Claims like this are slanderous and completely wrong.
Edit: Yes I’m sure this is the correct cafe, not sure why you think this doesn’t make sense, unless you’re saying this is a disingenuous review? I was quite shocked by the mannerism of the member of staff ignoring me to serve the “regulars”. Was hoping for a better response to acknowledge fault…
Used to come here regularly when I was in the area. Staff have always been a bit tense despite being overly friendly and helpful by clearing my own cups and plates up. Last visit staff member served three people came in after for me and get served first. Waited 15 mins and was ignored the whole time. Asked member of staff if I could ‘please’ order, instead of apologising for missing me got gaslighted and told ‘well we serve regulars first’. Think these guys need a 101 in customer service.
