Had to stop by this all gluten-free bakery during a visit to Torquay - it’s a bit hidden in a market hall so easy to be missed. We picked up a doughnut, christmas sausage roll and potato/cheese pastry the first time we went and all were delicious. I don’t think I’ve had a proper fried doughnut since going gluten free 13 years ago ???? and it tasted like the real deal to me - soft and doughy but not too sweet, just perfect. I also ordered jam doughnuts for collection as they didn’t have any that day, and am looking forward to trying one tonight. They also ship if you don’t live close!
Bakery and shop specialising in gluten free food, made on the premises.
Great bread, rolls, pasties, sausage rolls and cakes. The individual pieces of gateau are so delicious, you would not know they are gluten free. Many other baked items can be found on their website.
The fudge was amazing, and the ice ream was perfect on a hot day. My daughter made use of the gluten free options which she said was also very good.
I recently had my first order from Jacksons Gluten Free Bakery, and wow! I've been gluten free for about 9 months since being diagnosed with coeliac disease, and haven't found any decent pastry, sweet or savoury. Well now I have. These people know what they're doing. If the food hadn't come from a gluten free bakery I'd be questioning whether they sent me normal food, it's that good. Particular highlights are the lemon meringue pies, cheesecake, and quiches. My daughter loved the puff pastry sausage roll and homity pie. So much more left to try. If you're missing "normal" food, this is well worth a go. And if you're lucky enough to live nearby, definitely check it out!
Came upon this fabulous shop by chance today. As I am coeliac this felt like Christmas had come early! I bought lots of sweet and savoury items that I normally cannot find gluten free. Had the Mediterranean flan for my lunch, delicious!! Thank you very much.
I was given one of their beef in red wine pies a couple of weekends ago to try and I am very happy to report that it was one of the best pies I have ever sampled!
I am not a lover of gluten free bread and thankfully from my point of view I do not have to avoid gluten and can use traditional bread. As such I have not tried their bread.
However I can honestly say that I could not tell that the pastry in the pie was gluten free.
The meat content was nothing short of delicious, plenty of meat and a rich gravy to boot!
This is a long-standing lovely family-run business with lovely savouries and amazing looking pastries.
Support this business, that is a great example of what makes local produce so special!
Just received my first order through the post and very pleased with the way it was packed. There was a big polystyrene box with enough ice packs to keep the food still chilled when I came home from work. The food was fresh and well packed. A nice touch was a separate tub of sugar for the jam doughnut!
I have already recommended the company to friends from their products, they are delicious and my latest experience re-enforces how good the company is with a well deserved award.
Just wow and wow again ~ I'm so happy that I've found you!
I had nearly given up searching for gluten free food that doesn't taste like gluten free. My search stops here. You guys clearly have some wizardry, magicky stuff going on there at the bakery.
So.....
* Packaging is bang on
* The A4 user manual is really useful
* The bread is amazing - I've sliced and frozen but left some out for a sandwich - the bread does not need toasting
* Pork pie and sausage rolls - fab!
* Scones are a really decent size. Yet to try- they've gone in the freezer
* The lemon drizzle loaf cake is just incredible, so soft and ... lemony...
* Let's talk about the toffee mouse and the cheescake slices. Who knew the centre of gluten free patisserie was in Torquay?! These nearly brought me to tears. They are perfect - thank you
I do have one small grumble. My teenager, who isn't gluten free, arrived home from school and dived into the box. By the time they came up for air I was down one sausage roll, half a lemon drizzle cake and two slices of bread which they used to make a fish finger sandwich. They never, ever, ever eat my gluten free grub. I need to find hiding places for my future orders- of which there will be many!
Thank you so much, you absolutely made my day ⭐????⭐????⭐????⭐????⭐
