1st time in Todmorden, 1st pub we tried... wish we had stayed longer. Had a chat with the lovely landlady - Sue. Would like to go back for sure, when the weather improves ???? beer garden
Land lady very abrupt and rude. Not a fun experience
Went in for a quick pint to get out the cold, but it was freezing. I get, at the moment, it's pricey to have the heat on all the time, but the landlady was huddled around the roaring fire and didn't even offer to move to let us warm up! Surely customer comfort should come first? The news was on - not very relaxing at all, as all of it was negative and sad. We actually wanted to leave as soon as we sat down - couldn't even take our coats off. The nicest part was the pub dog, which, although is clearly loved (he had the fire too), was constantly being told to shut up. He was the highlight! The pub itself is really nice and we have been in before and it was lovely, but this was a bad visit.
Always a delight! Fabulous land lady! What more can you want from a little local pub!
Attended a yearly meeting of retired friends which had been arranged with the licencee who in turn made a home made meat & potato pie and mushy peas which was enjoyed by the group along with a good selection of beers.
Warm welcome after local Fell race, great cask beer at very reasonable price. Proper old-fashioned (in a good way) pub!
Just stopped off for quick drink on a dog walk. Fast and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.
Favourite place in tod. If you love football, food and a good time this is the place for you. Where all ages get along like one big family. Always a great time to be had...with some great bands and entertainment. The landlady always goes that extra mile to keep everybody happy.
