RAC took my car there for a fix, and not only was their initial estimate of the works more expensive than RAC’s mobile engineer (the only reason I didn’t use them was because their booking system was down) the price then went up after the mechanic standard call of ‘not only is this broken this is too’
Later assuming that was a one off because sure RAC wouldn’t align to any one who may treat a customer that way, I went for a clutch problem. On their review they stated the whole clutch needed replacing whilst only saying they’d taken it for a test drive and the clutch ‘felt a little high’. For the review of the car (which amounted to nothing more than a test drive by their own admission) they charged 35 quid, and quoted a repair of over 900.
I subsequently obviously sought a second option; not only did I get quotes for a clutch repair over 200 cheaper, but another garage in Potters Bar reviewed the issue for free (having a mechanic sit in the car for 30 minutes trying to engage the issues I’d had) and stated that while stiff, and a clutch bearing possibly going, there was nothing that should be repeated at this stage, and they wouldn’t take any money for what they looked at , no force a sale on us.
Just wish I’d read and believed the reviews for this place , would’ve saved me time and money .

They lie, cheat and steal your money. Quotes on the phone then you turn up for a job and they “can’t find the paperwork for the mot” then try to slab on an extra £100 just to get your keys back.

Needed a replacement suspension top mount ONLY
Told me the coil spring was broken it had snapped. I did not believe them when I returned they said it was corroded WHICH IS IT?
Said I need new shock absorber. Unlikely

I bought a top mount for £18, the coil spring was neither broken or corroded. The shock absorber was fine. See photo
We fixed it by the side of the road. No power tools or ramps, it took 90 minutes. I'm sure it would have been done in under an hour in a professional garage
Quoting £370 for this job was plainly nonsense. They were recommended by the RAC

PLEASE do not trust them.
YOU ARE POTENTIALLY PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK and very expensive damage to your car if you use these lot.
The good reviews are for the previous owners and management: these new owners are very dangerous, aggressive and spiteful when challenged over legitimate concerns.
USE A DIFFERENT GARAGE. There are lots of others around.

Booked my car in for a routine repair. Was there all day and I tried to call but no answer. Went back the following day after work only to find out that they hadn't bothered to do repairs. Gave me feeble excuses about not being able to get a part that they already said they had in stock. Blamed Brexit, can you believe that? Checked local part suppliers and the had ample stock. Don't like being lied to. Got repairs done elsewhere for £100 cheaper than there quote. So done me a favour really. If you want to be lied too and over charged then go here .

I have just had a new fuel pump fitted and can only say that the service I received was second to none. Staff were very polite and helpful even to the extent of picking me up and giving me a lift to the garage so that I could have my car the same day. All this at half the price I was quoted by 4 other garages in the locality. I had read other reviews but decided that they sounded a bit like sour grapes to me and other people i knew had used J & N before and were happy so I decided to give it a go. I'm so happy I did as it could have cost me £250 extra elsewhere. Happy customer
