To be avoided at all costs. Simply because their direct rival's Gregg's is the far superior bakery. Gregg's has a greater, more fresher, trendier, cheaper, selection of foods & drink, sandwich produce. Gregg's also earns a profit of about £1billion per month!
Whilst I am pretty certain that the staff at Percy Ingle must be very nice people - just be surprised if Gregg's (within the next few years) doesn't decide to do a massive takeover of this Bakery chain. Not because they really need it. But just to totally snuff out the less inferior bit of competition.
Sorry, I meant, there is no competition.
Because Gregg's has now successfully cornered the market.
Staff are alright. Food is poor. The doughnuts and cakes look very tempting, but don't taste anywhere near as good as they look. The steak bite is awful, really poor quality meat that's chewy and looks minced, with an overpowering gravy that is a funny, almost translucent, colour. Not to mention the crazy amount of pastry that's not cooked properly in the middle. Won't be going again, Greggs are far superior.
Rude white lady who doesn't acknowledge you. Then serves someone else. Don't know go here but as Greggs had a long queue I resorted to Percy. However another polite lady served me and was attentive. A pasty I bought had no flavour but was edible.
The food is tasty and convenient if you just want to grab some kind of baked good as you pass by. Feels rushed and a little awkward if you don't know what you want right away. Clearer labels on the pastries in the window would probably go a long way.
the lady was very friendly . i had to wait to get a hot sausage roll but worth it. good selection of breads and pastries. will be coming here a lot more
Best percy, it as been there for as long as ive been alive. All staff are friendly not run into a bad mindmone yet. Percy has stepped up there game. New cakes and new packaging. Every little helps
Great value bread and cakes from this East London mainstay. The apple and blackcurrant danish is incredibly naughty but tastes AMAZING.
food ok, but £7.60 for a pasty small seafood roll and an iced cake, Greggs over the road is better value
