(29/04/2023) Sarah and I finally had the opportunity to frequent this restaurant. It is rare that we take the time to write reviews; the experience is only negative or positive to prompt us to do so. The Inglenook ticked every possible box for us; from the restaurant layout and decor, the incredibly professional yet super friendly staff,
a superb 3 course dinner that was one of the nicest dining experiences we have ever had! We cannot recommend this restaurant strongly enough!
Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The decor was quaint, warm and welcoming.
Unfortunately the food wasn't as welcoming to the taste buds. I found the monk fish overcooked and lacking in flavour. The chilli mayonnaise dip tasted as though it had had a slight drop of tomato sauce, but not a seasoning in sight.
I feel harsh writing such a poor review about the food but unfortunately it really didn't meet the standard I would expect of a seaside restaurant serving seafood.
It seemed that the food was catered towards and older clientele and would not recommend it for younger tastebuds.
How to ruin a fish restaurant! Atmosphere was dead, didn’t really want to talk. The waitress didn’t come back to check if our food was ok, when it was shocking. Over cooked the monkfish, to the point the skin had twisted into it. Everything was tasteless bland & watery boiled. Who serves frozen tasteless cardboard tasting fries, with Monkfish, takes nothing to chop a few potatoes & fry. The new potatoes were peeled normal boiled potatoes. It was all going well with the starter the Whitebait was lovely. Absolutely gutted wanted to try this place for ages too. Nothing beats the Lobster Pot & Bank for food. This place was astonishingly BAD!!
Fantastic little gem of a place. We just returned from our meal. Food was absolutely delicious. We had tempura prawns, whitebait for starters. Lemon sole, monkfish, salmon for main. All tasted amazing - great meal on our last night in Wales.
Absolutely delicious food. We had tempura prawns to start, lobster thermidor main and for dessert a tia Maria meringue. It was all first class.
Great atmosphere, and service was excellent. Other meals we saw being served all look superb too so definitely going back to try some other dishes.
Awesome meal. We don't often go out so this was an extra special treat. Did not disapoint. The food was wonderful and the service exceptional. Also extremely accommodating if you required something different. Can't wait to go back and would definitely recommend ????
