One of the lucky ones to get a table on opening night. Absolutely exceeded expectations. Lovely atmosphere. My daughter said it was like being on holiday. Sublime authentic pizzas, starters and desserts. So lucky to have this place in walking distance. Try it. You will NOT be disappointed.
First time visiting IL Capitano's and it certainly won't be the last visit. We arrived half an hour before it had opened for the day however we were still invited inside by the lovely staff who were kind enough to still seat us and serve us despite us being there early. The pizza was absolutely lovely and so were the staff. Highly recommend!
Its a bit of a random location in an old pub in the middle of knotty Ash. However the current owners have done a good job of transforming the decor in to what almost feels like a greek/fish restaurant vibe. The cuisine is Italian however and the Italian food is very good indeed. The pizzas are the best I've had outside of Naples. The caesar salad dressing is homemade and delicious. It would be great to see the addition of some pasta dishes. But with what they do offer, hey do it well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Shout out to the manager who is always welcoming
Great place, and a friendly welcome. The pizza's are freshly made and absolutely delicious. Great choice on the menu and they cater for gluten-free diets also. Highly recommended.
First time at Il Capitano to try the pizza and pasta.
Busy even though it was early on a wet Friday evening. Pleasant greeting as we arrived. Good choice of pasta and pizza with decent wine and choice of beer. My draught Poretti was spot on and our Italian Merlot very good too.
Service was attentive and we enjoyed our calamari and bruscetta starters the bruscetta com alice was particularly good.
Our carnivore pizza and gamberoni pasta left us with no room for dessert. Pizza had plenty of toppings and a nice speckled crust but the base was a bit soft. Pasta was fresh nicely al dente with plenty of prawns.

Food and service brilliant, but place is was freezing! Ate with our coats on as did others. Put some heating on guys! Food was amazing tho and staff lovely, will try again in summer.
Becoming our go-to place for pizza. Loved it last time and loved it more this time.
Wilson's Pear Pizza was amazing. Highly recommend this place if you want proper pizza.
