I have been here a number of times over the years for breakfast when travelling in that part of the country. It is now called Horseshoes. I was surprised to see that you no longer just order a breakfast and add or take away but that you purchase each element for £1. I was disappointed to find that each element consisted of 1 item and so I paid a pound for 1 egg, and a pound for 1 slice of fried bread etc. I found this very poor and I won’t be going again which will break a routine going back about 15 years.
Called in to the cafe
on the way back from Newark. We had burger, chips, and tea twice. On getting home I found that my credit card had been charged £28.50. I rang the cafe to check why it was so expensive, and was told it should have been £24.30. FOR 2 BURGERS AND TEA ??? Could not get a refund unless I called in, but as I live 50 miles away it's not possible. OVERPRICED and OVERCHARGED. Will not go there again.
Really good place to stay. Great room, good service and ample parking. Very quiet too.
What a find this was! Spotlessly clean, every need catered for, and lovely staff. Couldn’t fault our stay! Ideally situated for Lincoln, newark, and sleaford, ample parking and great breakfast at very reasonable price. We will definitely be back
As usual, we stopped on route to the Norfolk coast for our holiday. |The food is great, breakfast or just a sandwich all cooked fresh. The cafe is very clean with really pleasant staff. |Good parking, you just have to know where it is as it's off the main road and easy to miss the turning.
Sadly we only spent one night here en route to the North. We couldn't have made a better choice. A little off the 'beaten track' was an advantage in that it was quiet and peaceful. Linda was an excellent hostess and made us feel very welcome on our arrival. The en suite room was spacious and comfortable, and meticulously clean.||A first class breakfast was served in the adjoining cafe, and the family team that helped Linda were friendly and approachable. ||Definitely a place to stay again.
What a lovely place. Location was ideal for our needs. Room very spacious and spotlessly clean. All amenities available. Huge bed and so comfortable. Friendly service. Would definitely come again and would highly recommend to others.
Stayed on a business trip. Rooms are OK could do with modernisation. Close to the main road so some noise when the windows are open. Could do with black out blinds/curtains as it was light at 4-30 in the morning. Lots of parking and a good breakfast provided in a truckers style area next to the rooms.
