I'm often nervous of micro pubs as they can be a litlle clicky and frequented mainly by men in beards extolling the virtues on CAMRA membership and the evils of the lager drinker, luckily the Horse and Dove is not like this! I have now visited a number of times with my wife and cannot recommend it enough, the service is warm and friendly, the atmosphere is great, the prices are very reasonable and it caters for everybody. The lagers are amazing, it has wine and fizz and is an absolute gem of a pub, just love visiting here and people watching with the amazing location and views.
Excellent Micro bar in the 2022 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Lovely location in the market place. Pavement seating on a sunny day. I chose a pint of Ludlow Gold over Butty Bach. Both amongst my favourite beers. Also had the excellent Milk Stout from Bristol Beer Factory on draught.
We had tickets for the races in Uttoxeter but decided to have a mooch around the local bars and we're glad we did when we came across this little gem! The staff were really friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in , the range of real ales and ciders are excellent and the place is very relaxing and spotless, we did all our betting that day from the comfort of this micro pub, but did see a horse in the end when one escaped from the races and made it's way to the square directly outside where it was caught again. We found this the best place in Uttoxeter by a long way & would recommend a stop off for a drink here!! Excellent.
What a great micropub! Claire and I started here early doors on Friday when we visited Uttoxeter and loved it! John the owner and the regulars are all very friendly! We're really looking forward to our next visit here again ????

Micro pub in town centre. Very good range of drinks available. Cozy bar, a good place for a drink and a chat.
