Delicious food at reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back and try something else. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
My family announced their choices very good value for money and very tasty. I liked the eclectic decor more than my food.. l ordered a Welsh rarebit off menu which l thought was undercooked in terms of the topping. Not enough egg ratio to cheese ( always a hot debate) and bread wasn't crisp enough. However l couldn't fault the magnificent presentation with the generous portion of varied salad garnish ( see photos) The fish specials on the board ready for the evening customers also looked well presented.
Service was very attentive, high chairs are available and there are funny mottos & sayings on hanging plaques to read while you're waiting for your food to arrive. Of note were three framed professional photos of Burry Port beach.
My husband and I both had fish dishes, they were both lovely and fresh, as was the side salad. We were able to take our dog here with us(bar area) the chef cooked some sausages for her which was so lovely and thoughtful ????
Fantastic fish restaurant with a great variety of fresh dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would highly recommend. Pretty interiors.
Very, very good. Excellent fish menu, but steak and burgers also available.
If you got half as much at twice the price in a posh London restaurant you would be more than happy.
Go now, you won't be disappointed and if you don't like food you can work your way through their extensive beer menu.

We came for food and drinks. Drinks are good with great prices. Food was sadly just not great. The chips with fish and chips were soggy and soft. The flounder dish was not fresh and not cooked properly and we couldn't eat it as were scared to get sick from it. Lovely service, but can't understand the high ratings at all - food needs to massively improve.
Friendly staff, great menu, and food cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.
I stayed in Burry Port for a short break at the end of May and the owner at my B&B recommended the Hope & Anchor to us. From the outside it was unclear that is was a full size restaurant and my partner was a little dubious about eating there.
We need not have been concerned as once inside it was evident that the place was immaculately clean, spacious (there's more space towards back of the building and a courtyard area which would be great in warmer weather). The welcome we received was very warm and the waitress service was fabulous.
The meals were the best we have had in a long time, with fresh ingredients, home cut chips and everything seasoned and balanced to perfection. Even things such as the salad were made excellent and you could see that the Chef had really thought about the menu and every ingredient, where usually a salad seems thrown together, here it was mixed perfectly and felt just as much part of the meal as everything else.
We loved the food so much we went back the following night and plan to return on our next visit to the area.
