Very nice bakery/sandwich shop. It's the sort of place that's pretty cheap but the quality was decent, they make up the sandwiches by hand. there was a wide selection of sweet slices and scones and things. We were up in Lancaster for a short holiday and stocked up here one day before going out walking. Exactly what I was hoping it would be :)
Cheap breakfast sandwiches however as they are precooked and kept warm the sausage are like rubber, concrete bacon and overcooked egg, probably would of been alot nicer cooked fresh.
I also was not keen on my cake being handled by hand after cutting sausage and making my breakfast sandwich.
Wash your hands !! Not just because of the covid pandemic it's basic food hygiene. If you touch meat you wash your hands before touching anything else. ????????????
Traditional local bakery with a difference. The Hilltop also does a roaring trade in take away food, breakfast buns, bacon, sausage and egg etc. and a sandwich making service with a reasonable choice of fillings. Hot pies and other hot foods are also on the menu.
Lovely food freshly prepared every day. Nice staff. Very reasonable prices. Big selection of food. From pies to salad. Nice size portions too
