REVIEWING THE RECENTLY OPENED BAY VIEW RESTAURANT
Fantastic tasting fish and chips. I give four stars rather than five because the fish batter was a little oily. No expert but it just needs it to stand a minute on a rack to let it dry.
Bar that, it was the best-tasting fish I have eaten in a long time, usually restaurant fish and chips always taste bland, but not here.
The staff were more than friendly and helpful.
The place was that new, they were still unwrapping the credit card machines.
If they can keep this standard up at the height of the season, they are on to a winner
Fantastic experience. Service was second to none. Food was faultless. Not too badly priced. 8 of us fed and watered for under £70. Will definitely be going back.
Amazing views over Filey Bay and very busy place.
My wife ordered a ham and pineapple pizza, and I ordered the salt and pepper spice squid. Despite being told that there was a 40 minute wait on pizza, our meal came out within 20 minutes.
We decided to split our meal 50/50 and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
There are not that many places to eat in Filey itself as it's a very small place but if you're in the area, give this place a try
Staff were great! Venue nice, with 2 floors and balcony for outside dining with views over the beach and sea. Very reasonable prices and the food was delicious. We were a family of 6 and everyone enjoyed it. A good selection of drinks too.

So glad we visited
6 of us (3 children) were staying at the Haven Blue Dolphin Site not far from Filey and we had decided last minute to have a meal out. After a quick search on Trip Advisor we tried the Bull Inn which is local however they decided to stop selling food 2 hours before advertised! So we headed to Filey to the Italian San Marco however it was also not to be as they were full. After another quick search on Trip Advisor we came across The Cobble Bar and Bistro. I made a quick call to them and spoke with a lovely girl who assured us we could all be fed. We headed straight round. Third time lucky?
Initial impressions were ok, it did feel a little plain and there wasn't much atmosphere (it was a Sunday night mind you) however the smell of food was just lovely! I think due to being called a Bistro I was maybe expecting something a little more upmarket, not that I am implying it was run down or shabby as it wasn't either.
We were warmly greeted by Ella who also happened to be the girl I spoke to on the phone. We were seated and she attended to us all night. The service was excellent and the food was really really good. I won't bore you with all that we ate but it all tasted fresh and the food appeared to be all home made. The pizza, burgers and fish were all very good and the portion sizes about right. We were left feeling well fed and extremely satisfied. The food was great but if I'm honest the service outshone the food, Ella was so polite and attentive and always had a smile on her face. At no point did we feel like we were being served in a restaurant, she almost seemed like someone we knew but hadn't seen for a while. The food was really good, the service was great and we had very little wait time for our food. Most importantly we didn't feel robbed when it came time to pay. All in all I would definitely recommend the Cobble and would happily return again.

Good food at good prices. We were a party of 12 who were well looked after on a busy Saturday evening. We'll definitely return.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT STAFF & GREAT VIEW!
We were made welcome from the moment we called to book a table. The restaurant is modern, bright, fresh and clean. The menu has an excellent variety of options which include Pizza, pasta, fish, salads, steaks, chicken, a specials board, and children's meals all reasonably priced. We chose the fish and chips, Alfonso pasta and BBQ chicken. All the meals were very tasty, presented nicely, were very fresh and the chips were particularly nice. After our meal our eyes naturally wandered to the desert menu. Usually at this point, the independent restaurants let themselves down by offering an appealing variety of deserts but which too often taste bland and are served frozen in the middle. I must be honest that when i saw the limited three options available here and a picture of a sad looking chocolate cake with a lonely blob of ice cream on the menu, i was not expecting any surprises. I was so wrong! We chose the cheese cake of the day ???? which was Chocolate indulgence and oh boy was it delicious (see pic). It was nicely presented and not frozen and so this finished our meal off beautifully.
In all we had a relaxed and pleasant meal made all the better by the nice, friendly and fun staff who went out of their way to make us and the other diners comfortable and feel like valued customers. One more thing I mustn't forget to mention is the superior view of the whole of Filey bay and the coast towards Flamborough Head. I can very highly recommend this lovely and perfectly located place to have your meal.
What a find. It doesn't look much from the outside But the view from the tables is superb. Especially when the sun goes down. Very friendly staff and pizzas to die for at a excellent price. Had a steak off the specials board. It came on a huge wooden board and it was full. Very generous portions and again not expensive.
Will be returning on our next visit to filey.
Booking is a must in high season.
