I came here for the first time with my partner. We came because of the reggae/ ska act.
Music was fantastic. Service was rather slow. I couldn't eat the cauliflower cheese as it was laced with garlic ( which makes me ill) . Sharing cheese board was superb
Excellent food, good beer and wine well worth a visit. Definitely coming back very soon!
A warm friendly pub with excellent food. All the staff are welcoming and the log fires give a homely feel. Live music adds to the happy atmosphere. Well worth seeking out.
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to end. The steak was cooked to perfection, served with some of the best potatoes I've ever tasted. Top quality food and the staff can't do enough for you. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.
We were on a walk from Sutton Valence with our kids and found the pub to be closed. The owners however could hear our distressed baby that needed feeding and very kindly opened up for us to re-fuel and calm the baby down and feed him. Really kind and friendly and the pub looked very nice. We will be returning at some point for a nice meal and to show our appreciation.
Came here to watch the reggae and ska act. And have Sunday lunch. Music was fantastic. Food was ok except for the very garlic heavy cauliflower cheese ( I'm garlic intolerant) cheese board platter was pure heaven
Food, good pub grub, reasonably priced. Nothing special. Nicely presented with reasonable portions. You get what you paid for. Parking a pain as the pub car park not easy to find and full and the main square car park totally full, had to park in a side road and this was mid week. Staff polite but not particularly friendly. Atmosphere very noisy. Went there to talk and catch up with some friends but it was difficult.
Reason we went back was because last Christmas had the most amazing Christmas meal ever ! With staff absolutely lovely, helpful , friendly and chatty. Despite all the above would definately go back again to give it another go as the pub itself has a very nice atmosphere.
Had a lovely roast dinner tonight, set menu was perfect. Service was great and the pub is lovely, owner made sure we had vegan options too and went out of his way to make a dessert up on the spot. Well worth a visit!
