Popped in here as staying nearby, and really glad I did. To quote my partner: 'I think these are the best fish and chips I've had'. Couldn't agree more!
Very generous portions, and the fish was battered and cooked fresh in front of me. The curry sauce is not your usual chip shop fayre, it's properly home made and delicious.
Really friendly team too, 10/10!
We usually go to Conwy Arches chippy but decided to try this for a change this evening. The guy serving was unbelievably slow and left my open chips in the tray just sitting on the side whilst he washed a few things then came to tell the lady serving how exhausted he was before I said that my food was going cold and asked that he wrap it. He’s already put one tray into the carrier bag and it must have been 15 mins before he added the second. Not at all happy with that.
The chips and peas were ok, fine. The fish looked amazing, golden and crispy and quite big, and the actual fish inside was good, but the batter was 2cm or more thick in parts and not cooked through, it was as though the fish was wrapped in uncooked flaccid pastry in parts. Where the batter was thinner it was nice albeit there was a LOT of oil inside. All in all, could have been way better.
We just came back from a short holiday in Llandudno. My friend recommended this place, he grew up a few streets away - so we trusted he knew where the best place to go for a chippy was.
This place is awesome, the fish was cooked to order and all I can say is that the fish, along with the chips, were perfection!
If you are staying in Llandudno, or the surrounding area, it is well worth the short drive. We just parked up on the street near by and ate in the car although it looked like you could eat in too.
The fish was undercooked and inedible also the batter was extremely greasy. Felt sickly after trying first mouthful. The chips were chewy, clearly reheated. Such a disappointment as the girl serving was so pleasant. Waste of nearly £10 not cheap!! Sorry but not value for money, threw the fish away. Won’t go back.
Fish and chips were all freshly fried. HOWEVER, the chips were too soggy and the fish was not crispy. Perhaps it was a bad batch, but was a shame considering the £40 spent on x3 orders. Please work on it!
At home in the Midlands we will sometimes share a large portion of chips and a large fish between my wife and I and our 2 young children - as long as I'm not greedy, we usually have enough each to tide us over. We thought we'd do the same here as a lunchtime snack...
It's apparent however that potion sizes are not the same in Wales! To say it was supposed to be a large portion, the box was absolutely tiny with no more than a handful of chips - I would hate to see a small portion.
Some of the chips were also undercooked, which was a real shame.
Although the service was very friendly, I can't say I'll be rushing back on our next visit.
WOW. I think this could be the best fish and chips we’ve had. Great portion sizes, brilliant fish, and the home made fish cake is not to be missed. and to top it off the staff were really helpful, polite, and nice. 5 stars.
The best Fish and Chips I’ve had in years! When you order a large cod, you should get a large cod and Harbour View Delivered! Lovely chips and I’m impressed ???? A+++
