Bought chips around 6pm and they were re-heats and inedible. The girl that served me was fairly friendly but whoever does the frying needs cookery training. The best chippies cook fresh and there’s no reason not too especially at £4.50 for medium size portion. If I hadn’t driven 7 miles I’d have taken them back instead of throwing in the bin.
It says a lot when the only issue you have with a chip shop is that the menu is too big. The food is delightful. Portions are insane for the price. The service was great too. Great value for money. We will definitely be back again even if it is a bit of a drive from where we live. Well done Harbour fish&chips. You clearly understood the assignment.
Chips tasted like they where old and been reheated kebab meat was reheated on griddle tasted like rubber .Battered sausage was only thing that tasted ok .women where very nice that served us .Place needs a good paint and clean
i would honestly ignore any less than positive reviews. sometimes people are just moody or happen to be having a bad day; we feel for you ????????????????
the staff were friendly, professional & helpful (incl giving me info on an unrelated matter). i had to wait a few minutes, however not long, the patrons were cool & the food had that vibrant freshly cooked hit ????.
i had chips, panko-coated scallops, homemade garlic sauce & homemade chilli sauce. the portions were sizeable ????????♂️????.
i sat overlooking the bay, and i thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
the chips were succulent, the scallops ultra fresh and perfectly fried, the sauces very tasty and a perfect accompaniment to a superb meal.
actually a little surprised no one appears to have mentioned the chilli sauce. man was slightly & very happily taken aback to discover it was warm [physically hot] and made freshly in-house with carefully selected tomatoes, as well as having a distinctive, well-balanced flavour.

AMAZING! Absolutely beautiful fish and chips and sausage supper. We took the short walk to the harbour and ate a lovely supper in a lovely village. Loved it so much we went back for an extra portion of chips to take back to our holiday cottage. Friendly staff and great service. Very reasonably priced for such fresh food. GIVE THIS CHIPPY A TRY IF YOUR ON THE BLACK ISLE!
Delicious! I had the Harbour Salad and chips and my husband had a Vegetarian pizza and we shared them. The girl at the counter explained what was in the Harbour salad (potatoes, carrots, peas and gerkins) and that it was freshly made by the owner and recommended it. It was lovely, as was the pizza. My husband makes his own pizzas at home and said this was the best shop bought takeaway pizza he's ever had.
The chips were tasty and freshly cooked, far, far better than the ones I had a few days ago from the chip shop in Fortrose.
Highly recommended!
Great chippy, love that it's open on a Sunday for walking the dogs. Just mind that it's cash only so don't be caught short. Lovely staff and great food.
Having fish and chips from the Harbour is a must for me, when visiting the black isle. Everything freshly prepared and tastes amazing
