Really lovely restaurant. Food was really good lots to choose from. Atmosphere was cosy warm and decorated beautifully throughout. Would recommend this place.
Very friendly staff who are very accommodating and engaging. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Rooms spacious and very clean with plenty of amenities safe hair drier etc. Breakfast plenty to choose. Bar prices are on a par with London food in the restaurant is very good. I would recommend afternoon tea it very popular. The hotel itself is a short walk from the shopping area and there are many old pubs and restaurants around the area. Around a 2 min walk to the pedestrian area.
Lovely spot slightly hidden away on the high street. I cam here a couple of times for drinks and for afternoon tea.
They have a lovely clotted cream menu with bottomless tea. A hugh variety of tea to choose from, many caffeine-free.
We were very hungry so the waiter gave us complementary short bread biscuit to eat while we wait for our food. The vegetarian burger was delicious.
The place was clean and the staff were friendly. I only gave it 4 stars because we had to wait for a while for our food.
The food here is absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was good and I loved the decor. Nice bar area with a good wine selection. Seating around the bar, table and chairs and booths. Waiter was pleasant and recommended some items on the menu. I had the ribs, the best I've had in years. Portions are large, so go hungry. Prices are average for Guildford area. I've been to places more expensive but the food wasn't as nice as here. They have another restaurant on site, The Jetty. Will be back to try the afternoon tea.
Popped in for a drink early Sunday evening and sat in the main bar area at the front, on a comfy sofa. It had a nice busy buzz to it but it wasn't noisy. The guy who served us was attentive and professional (wish I'd taken his name). My friend wanted a particular tea and he made genuine efforts to find it. When he couldn't find it, he was apologetic and keen to make sure my friend had a suitable alternative. That could be deemed basic service but there have been numerous occasions when that kind of effort hasn't been made. It was very much appreciated. Thank you again to that guy.
Always a great experience with friendly staff. Poppy has always been someone who goes above and beyond. The bar team provided me with honey, lemon and mint (in hot water) for my sore throat, and it worked extremely well. I also seemed to lose my credit card on the sofas; however, fortunately the bar manager found it and rushed to return it to me before I left the building. I did not catch the bar manager's name, but I am very grateful to her. Thank you and see you soon.
My wife paid £5.50 for a cappuccino - unless they use speciality graded coffee (which I doubt) and decorate the coffee with gold leaf, then I highly doubt there is any justification for charging that amount for a single coffee. They didn't even have any lids available for the takeout ????
