Good morning (just !!)
Today is extremely cold and so finding somewhere nice to enjoy a warm drink and a bite to eat is at the top of my agenda.
Pippa and I decided to plump for one of our regulars that we go to called ‘Hanushka’.
As far as I’m aware, the owners have two such establishments and both are amazing. They are definitely a book worms idea of heaven with almost every wall completely covered with bookshelves and filled to the brim with books of all descriptions.
The atmosphere is very conducive to relaxing and enjoying a warm drink. The staff are warm and very welcoming and they are extremely efficient which makes for a very good experience.
The food is always very good and tastes wonderful, and they also cater for vegetarians which is not always the case. They serve a mixture of sandwiches, hot and cold, numerous cakes and pastries, and drinks of all forms.
Currently they are also serving mulled wine for those who partake of this tipple at this time of year and yet again, it tastes wonderful.
All in all I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to take a break from the humdrum of continual shopping and cold weather, you won’t be disappointed.
In the end you would need to decide for yourself but I have nothing to but praise for this place.

Very nice coffee house in Hastings town centre. Coffee is nice, dog friendly & even the toilet's are quirky.
Dropped in as we were walking by and very glad that we did! Cracking coffee shops with books galore. A sensational area for young kids to play while coffees are had (the Babychinos were well received) and the coffee was excellent. Had a chocolate pastry also which was decent. All service was with a smile. Go here with kids in a relaxed environment and you will be able to have a coffee in relative peace
Very nice staff, lovely cakes, good coffee with a little biscuit on the side. Nice atmosphere and dog friendly. Shelves full of books and a children’s area with toys and their own books. There are some big tables for groups and a couple of comfy sofas' to relax on too. Has 4g signal but there is wifi.

One of the best cafe I've been to! Great atmosphere. It really looks like from movies! I would highly recommend to pop for a coffee if you are visiting.
A place for inspiration for sure. It's what you want your living room to look like, if you love books. Coffee and cakes are good, but the overall experience is what matters. Recommended if you visit Hastings and you want to relax, while picking up a book from their shelves and browsing through it. ????

I liked the sofa. In fact I always checked whether there was space available before I ordered a cappuccino. If not I left as I found their wooden chairs uncomfortable, no biggie. It's a Friday and I'm sat on the sofa (with two other customers) waiting for my coffee to arrive when a member of staff tells all three of us that the sofa is actually "reserved" (no reserved sign visible) and we'll all have to move!! What?? Didn't even know reserving the sofa was a thing. Seeing as my cappuccino hadn't arrived, I asked for a filled loyalty card (instead of refund ) so I could get the coffee I'd already paid for next time and then went elsewhere. The following Monday I'm back on the sofa with a cappuccino (which took just short of twenty minutes to arrive) when five minutes after it's arrival a member of staff comes over and tells me the sofa is reserved for 12 o'clock (again no reserved sign on display) so could I move OR finish my coffee in the next nine minutes (I pointed out it had taken twice that long to arrive in the first place and this being the second time in two visits I'd been asked to move, which didn't appear to go down well). So twice now I feel I've essentially been booted out of Hanushka 2 because I had the audacity to sit on the sofa without reserving it first. The young person who "evicted" me from the sofa
for the second time was clearly more annoyed by my protestations (twice in four days!!) than she was apologetic. It was a real "nothing to do with me,
I didn't know anything about it" job. Total lack of training/professionalism. Teenagers of today I guess. So I have yet another filled loyalty card (although I'm not feeling particularly loyal at the moment). It may be a while before I go back which is a shame as their coffee is good. Very very disappointed with customer treatment. ????
