This chip shop has fallen in quality and service standards over the years.
The problem is they take every customer to be an idiot.
Staff are rude, they walk around barking questions, there is no politeness or common courtesy.
You rarely see any modern health standards, such as gloves where preparing food. You get the same person carving up your meat, picking up chicken and operating machinery - then packaging the food - I saw no gloves.
Prices are hard to make out. Their new display is a joke, you have special offers flash up for a second and then they are gone. Keeps the customer confused allowing the staff to charge what they want.
I ordered food for the amount of £8 and was charged £10. The big guy who served me thought I wouldn't notice - but I did. He is the one who walk with a shuffle.
Chips I received - 50% were poor quality potatoes with black bits on all the chips - see the picture. They were not fit for consumption. I got some lazy excuse about potato harvest being bad and it wasn't their fault.
Rudeness from staff, they have side conversations with other customers whilst serving you. They are loud with each other and shout out orders to each other. This is no soap opera - customers need quality service not some side show, or for me to hear some conversation with some other customer whilst having my food served, it taints the whole meal with the energy of some other customers conversation - I mean please, this is basic standards when it comes to serving food.
I feel the rudeness is carried out on purpose to cover up the poor quality of the food, the lack of health and safety, lack of cleanliness when preparing the food, and also mainly for them to inflate their prices in the hope you don't notice or challenge them.
They really don't care about the customers, because of their location they will always get people coming in...
Except me.
You have to have some quality and standard when it comes to food and Hajees does not meet mine unfortunately.
Don't treat your customer like they are idiots, and fob them off with rotten chips and made up prices. Don't have a side conversation with other customer when serving my food.
Hope the extra £2 was worth it, as you have lost a customer for life.
Finally, a place that’s actually delicious and convenient. Especially the fries and masala fish, they’re absolutely decadent. Honestly couldn’t complain, very tasty food and hard working staff.
Fantastic place honestly can’t go wrong with these prices. Quality of food is great and never had an issue with service. Masala fish is definitely worth a try. Fast and convenient exactly what you would expect.
Wow! I have never experienced such an experience as when I first visited this fine establishment. Every time I have come back since my love for the business increases and appetite for their sublime menu rises.
DISRESPECTFUL AND RUDE. We have been ordering here for 7+ years. I am in the shop right now and really unhappy with the experience. Very rude workers who took my dad’s order today, the cross eyed man and main one with the apron “you can’t take the heat” IGNORED my dad who asked a question, saying “if you haven’t ordered don’t talk.” Then, when my dad was ordering, he began talking to another man in casual conversation in the shop. He also buried his head in his arms when my dad had a long order and sighed. EXTREMELY rude people even to people who PAY A LOT. We never kicked up a fuss but won’t be coming back here again. Pizzas and chips are excellent!
Avoid at all costs the charga chicken, i got food poisoning from it - doesnt get grilled/cooked properly ie lack of heat/temp
The food makes me feel like I’m a child all over again, how I long to taste that masala fish again but alas, not to be. One day for Christmas, I shall see that delicious masala fish under the tree
Big chicken ????; small price, small fish big chips ????; big price. Long wait; short parking, too busy; it is up to you whether- eat in or take away
