The chef did an incredible job - really fresh ingredients, incredible flavour and well plated! Plenty of great options for vegetarians - all packed a punch in taste! The lemon meringue was also delicious! Would return for sure!
Really enjoyed our lunch, with some exciting flavour combinations, sauces and beautiful plating by the chef. And the lemon crumble meringue desert ????????Highly recommended!
After trying several restaurants/pubs nearby that were full, we found Hackney Coterie, which was less than half full. Not knowing what the food would be, we were pleasantly surprised when told it was kind of tapas. We had one starter, one main and one side between two of us, which was enough. The beetroot and goats cheese starter was incredibly tasty but the huge whole sea bass with hummus and tabbouleh was amazing! We asked for the grains separately because I couldn’t eat them and they came in a bowl. The BBQd fish was really delicious as were the side of roasted potatoes with almonds and pesto. So many flavours but they all worked together. Such a brilliant meal, when we were expecting to grab a burger or something. Could not recommend the food more. The decor was good and the staff attentive and friendly but not overly. The atmosphere was a little quiet, which was unfortunate because it was a lovely place. Hopefully more people find this gem and experience the magical food. Pricing very reasonable for 3 dishes between us. Thank you!
Great food, atmosphere and service ! The artichokes with beans were sublime. Wasn’t so keen on the parsnip desert as we didn’t think the pastry went well with it but the service and pace of food coming out were so perfect. Can’t fault it!
Came here for my birthday and it was divine. The team accommodated 12 of us and made it extra special. The wine was to die for and the set menu even more so. Thanks so much!
Amazing atmosphere, staff and well.. the coffee and food are????
Special menu, totally deserves a visit!
Zero waste principles ! Music! Coffee! Spacious and very clean!
SALMON Roasted / redefined ????
A real gem of a restaurant in Hackney. The food and service was simply superb! Exciting innovative dishes with a sustainable ethos and a beautiful airy dining room.
Nestled aside the station, the facade is inconspicuous and perhaps easily missed. But for the initiated, arriving Inside the lofty and simple space offers deep refrain from the adjacent frenetic five points node. I was very much expecting to leave hungry for a bag of chips having been humiliated for my inadequate wino knowledge but the reality was far different. Although the offering is sharp and accomplished there was no stifling pretence, instead a relaxing and almost communal setting. The set menu was both generous and delicately composed. The service relaxed but rigourous. I get the sense the Coterie is still taking its first steps and may well soon me catalysed to dizzy gastronomic heights. But if they can retain the sense of humility which seemingly underpins their current operation I'm sure they'll go far
