Stunning park with a lot of history. Very child friendly but also lots of dog friendly space. The historical ruins are really interesting. There is also a mini golf area, a tea room and various additional cake stands in the summer months.
Gunnersbury Park truly stands as an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of southwest London. Its serene ambiance offers visitors a much-needed escape, providing tranquility and a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation. The park's natural beauty is simply breathtaking, offering a respite from the urban chaos. Additionally, the Gunnersbury Museum nestled within the park adds another layer of cultural enrichment, making it a worthwhile visit. Overall, Gunnersbury Park is a gem in the heart of London, offering a perfect retreat for those seeking solace and beauty amidst the city's frenzy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
This is such a gem and a great trip during the school holidays as we ended up at the playground and having picnic at the park with the many benches. Dog walking is permitted but special notices to have them under control so feel free to roam around on the trail or walking along the path following the guides / map too. Easily accessible by bus and train but we drove and found the car park prices affordable at £1 per hour though free if only visiting for ½ hour.
A beautiful and amazing park with a nice museum that is free to visit. We'll worth the look with a lot of history, a mini golf course, cafe, a decent size museum and it's so peaceful you will just walk around for hours visit the museum and have a wonderful day out.
Gunnersbury Park is a true urban oasis, seamlessly blending meticulously maintained gardens with untamed pathways. It's a paradise within the bustling city, offering a serene escape. The convenience of two small vans providing hot beverages and pastries adds a delightful touch to the overall experience. A perfect balance of nature and urban comfort.
Fantastic park, been coming here for 50yrs on and off and still love it to bits. It's certainly been gentrified since me and my friends would run riots on our choppers and tomahawks (ask yer folks), or playing sword fights with bamboo and getting chases off the park keeper (again, ask yer folks). You can now get coffees from a couple of stalls and there's a lovely cafe bar at the mini golf area I recently discovered that sells all kinds of refreshments including food, beer, wine and cider. Lovely place to walk a dog and it's never short of a dozen or two. The buildings are beautiful and the lawns nicely manicured, everything is sign posted telling you about the history.
It would be nice if they could hurry up and finish the tea rooms (or whatever it's going to be) near the boat pond as it's an eyesore, but otherwise an excellent park.
It's been a while since I was last here. Still a lovely park and museum. Shame the cafe by the pond seems to be in limbo regarding it's refurbishment. Mainly came here for the sci-fi exhibition of BBC props at the museum. A good little free display spread throughout the main museum building. They say they're expecting more items and as it's on until sometime in June I'll probably go again.
Little park, perfect for jogging or having a relaxing walk. There are a few places for coffe and cakes. Well taken care of, a lot of flowers...
