Amazing doctor,always knew to ask the right questions to find out what was going on with my dog's condition. He always knew exactly what my dog had and what medicine to administer.No hesitation in consultation . I recommend him with all my heart and I wish that all the pets would have such a doctor, an extraordinary man with patience and kindness that is rarely seen. Thank you
Where do I begin. Woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and wouldn’t let me get a sentence out without talking over me. I called because I rescued a dog who may be pregnant, I called to ask if they did ultrasounds which they don’t and the woman told me my dog didn’t need an ultrasound nor did she need pre natal care. When obviously the dog needs an ultrasound to check if the birth canal is wide enough for the puppies to safely make their way through. I also would need to check the puppies are even alive or safe as we rescued her and the previous owner had given her no kind of pre natal care or the right food she should’ve been on. It’s lucky I have a degree in animal behaviour and welfare so knew to go get an ultrasound elsewhere. Someone’s less informed may have followed their advice and ended up with dead puppies or a sick or dead mumma. AVOID
We find the vet at this practice very good but his wife who is receptionist is extremely rude, Myself and my husband (my husband is in his eighties I my seventies)were verbally abused when we took our cat for his post operative check, it was so bad and upset us so much when we got home I logged this abuse with the local police. I really think there is something wrong with this woman she really needs help before someone retaliates.
Word of warning to everyone who use this vets ...if you can get a word in with the so called receptionist/wife good luck to you as she constantly talks over you ..I tried but again couldn't get a word in at all she speaks over you , she is very rude how the hell this is still in business is beyond me ... after trying to get my talk in as asked if I could speak now she rudely put the phone down on me ..this female has no manners , very rude , very ignorant...the man at the top needs to sort this issue out or risk losing business...this woman needs gagging and binning ...waste of wage she is ...very very unhappy service...again avoid at all costs.
A (very!) belated thanks to Gordon and the team for their treatment of Bobby our cat, in mid-August. Bobby was very poorly when we took him in and the outcome was uncertain. I am pleased to say that after intensive treatment, Bobby is full restored to health, although not over-keen his new (mandatory!) diet! Thanks again. Andrew & Tracie
I’m only going to give one star and that’s because of Gordon Lochrie, because I have no issue with him. I have to say he’s a good vet. He shows compassion and caring, Wisdom and knowledge. However, our 19-year-old boy, cat was ailing and got to the stage where we needed to discuss euthanasia there and then. They have a strict policy of only having one client in the room. However, this was a different situation. It was imperative that my daughter be present as we were having our beloved boy put to sleep. The way the assistant behaved was unacceptable and completely lacked compassion. She would not let us be near him when the overdose had been administered last moments were with strangers and not loving ones. I could see on my daughters face how distressed she was. The way the assistant spoke to us was rude and lacked empathy and compassion. In fact it made our horrendous experience so much worse and so much more painful than it needed to be.
There is a blonde advanced in age personality there too. As I was walking through the door, she abruptly told me to shut it to keep the heating in.,she burst into the room whilst we were having our cat put to sleep, but fortunately, my daughter shut the door on her And gave her a look,. I don’t really know who she thinks she is but she certainly is nothing to me except a very sad cold, angry, bitter disturbed human. I suspect she is the wife that’s being spoken of in these bad reviews. Her deficiency in people skills leave a lot to be desired. She is simply disgraceful and should not be in this practice at all. Her rude aggressive manner on the phone is completely unacceptable.. she needs to remember that us clients with pets are the bread and butter and pay the bills. How dare she speak to us in this way? she’s made me feel utterly bereft.. so sadly as great Vet as Gordon is I will not be taking any of my cats to this practice again. I now have trauma associated with the experience and as for these disgraceful women, they should find another job may be working as traffic wardens..or in the prison system that be better suited.
We telephoned the vet late into the evening as our pup became extremely poorly in a short space of time. When we telephoned the vet and explained what was happening, all they would discuss with us at first was money. I explained that as (work commitments ) I was not there my sister would arrange payment, I was challenged as to why I wasn’t there to take the pup. During my interactions with the vet there was no compassion, empathy or respect. Everything was about money. We decided to visit another vet after our interactions with the vet!
Out of hours service called. Cost told him vet the phone (even at midnight they answered & agreed to see my cat)
Very professional & caring, extremely thorough throughout her examination. 3 days later, said cat is healthy & booked in for a grooming session. Amazing
