Best Chinese in Lydney in my opinion, although they have recently changed their crispy chilli beef and it doesn't taste anywhere as nice as previous. The last few have been chewy and thick and no where near as nice as their previous recipe. Consistently good, piping hot food. Cash only, no delivery FYI
Sorry to say but several of the dishes we bought (shrimp fried rice, egg fried rice, seaweed and crispy chilli beef) tasted distinctly off, as though they had been fried in stale oil. A REAL disappointment.
Scanning through other reviews this is clearly not an isolated incident. We won't be returning.
Yung chow fried rice was ok, lemon chicken not so good, Peking ribs were fried in batter didn't know what I was eating and the crispy Chili beef was rock hard and I don't even think there was beef in it! Won't be going there again.
This probably was one of the worst Chinese food experiences that I have had in a long time. The food tasted awful and I doubt that there were fresh ingredients used. The spring rolls tasted just of fat and nothing like delicious springs rolls you might be used too. The Kung Po chicken was a joke in terms of taste and the crispy chilli beef was pretty much not edible. All of the items were thrown away and we had to go somewhere else. I know that I won't be going here again!!!
I've tried all the Chinese in Lydney & this little place is by far the best, 1st thing I check is the hygiene Rating which is displayed on the door 5/5. Food is great Value, friendly staff. Food has always been fantastic.

Food is good but there is better to be found in Lydney, the building is run down and during the cold wet months it smells damp, this to me leads to mould not what you want in a takeaway
£45 on food and get 1 fortune cookie? Portion sizes was small but food wasn't that bad. I wouldn't go again though
