Won't be going back. Used to frequent Golden Phoenix but it's gradually been going downhill. They regularly don't pick up the phone when you try and order - I often have to travel there to order and then wait - only to be told I should have phoned first! ????????
I've had a plethora of issues ranging from stingy portions, incorrect change, unwillingness to adapt to dietary preferences, rude staff (presume owners, normally front desk is OK).
The final straw was my last order included a quarter duck, I got home to discover this wasn't included in the package. I called them and they suggested I was either lying or had dropped the foil package containing the duck (how exactly would you drop something that was in a bag with everything else?). There was a gentleman collecting his order right before me, so I expect they put it in his bag by mistake. They agreed to provide me with another quarter duck, but I was already home with the rest of the food and it's about a 20 minute round trip for me. We ate the food and then I returned to collect a paltry sized package, which when unwrapped wasn't even shredded or taken off the bone or skin, it was just a hunk of meat and wasn't that appetising. They outright refused that they had made a mistake and tried to blame it on me. Even if it was my fault, what's the point in upsetting your customers?
I won't be returning any time soon.
One of the best Chinese's I have ever eaten! Long wait time to collect food but it is worth the wait and everything was piping hot!

Went on a Wednesday night as I was staying o er for work and they were closed
Ordered by phone 5 items, all of which were vegetarian, but when I got home I found ribs and prawn crackers, instead of sweet and sour vegetables.
This is the 2nd time from the last 3 visits that they have sent food we can't even eat. Definitely won't be going back and would not recommend them at all.
Daughter and her fiancé are new to the area so we were trying this place for the first time. We chose this takeaway as it has better reviews and hygiene score than the ones closer to her house in Coningsby.
Called around 5.20 on a Saturday with an average 4 person order and was told would be ready at 6.40 - fair enough it must be popular.
Most of the food was decent but the main issue was the portion sizes, although the salt n pepper ribs were weird - there was only 4 of them and they were battered. None of us really liked them.
Szechuan Chicken - nice but the medium sized plastic tub was like 2/3rds full at best.
The half crispy shredded duck was not even shredded - never had one presented like that before - so we had to bone and shred it first which was a bit inconvenient and it really didn't look like a half. We had a whole pack of pancakes left over at the end.
Lemon chicken came in a small aluminium tray not a full size one and even then it was rattling about in there rather than packed in.
So apart from the ribs it was nice tasty food, but if you're feeding a family or group of adults and are used to a Chinese takeaway where the containers are packed full and you normally have a few leftovers, then here be prepared to maybe order another couple of mains to make sure you have enough food.
Tonight we had two king prawn chowmeins and various other meals
One of the chow mein had 7 prawns in the other had 6 ???!!!
Two weeks ago the same dish had 12 prawns in
Can you explain the discrepancy in the meals as you are obviously undermining portion control if you can't afford 12 prawns now , either put the price up or take off the menu ,yet another company ripping customers off
Simply, a really good British Chinese take away, no great surprises, but everything was cooked really well.
We ordered a set meal for 3, Ribs, Chicken and mushroom, Beef in black bean sauce, Cantonese sweet n sour chicken, and pork in peanut sauce, with special fried rice.
We had supper for 2, then again the next evening, but needed to cook up rice, as we'd finished the tray on the first evening ????
Honestly, I think you'll struggle to find better, good food, good service, and fair prices.
We'll order a second special fried rice next time, we both enjoyed it so much.
