Had a delicious, good value carry out. Only a 20 minute wait at peak time. Friendly chatty service. View from the pier passed 20 minutes no problem
Delicious take out food which hit all the spots especially after a day of distillery visits. The guy who runs the place was super accommodating to us and we were very thankful!
Everything we ordered was either bland or not at all accurate. The pad Thai was really yellow curry and super spicy. The spring rolls were freezer burnt and everything else, including fried rice, was almost tasteless. The hot and sour soup tasted like citronella and chilli powder. Worst food I've had in YEARS.
we had just gotten off off the ferry and everything was closed. i actually live in thailand, and was pretty hesitant to spend a meal on thai food, but we were pleasantly surprised!
lovely staff, friendly, cheap, and hearty portions.
i can absolutely recommend the peking duck with pancakes/leaks/cucumber/hoisin. the singapore fried rice was quite nice as well.
honestly, if you’re passing through and want some food and have your fill of fish and chips and haggis and whatnot, give it go. we enjoyed it!
My wife and I always have a Chinese meal when we visit the mainland. We have not had a Chinese meal on Islay for about 5 years so we decided to give the Golden Dragon (only Chinese on Islay) a go. I ordered a takeaway for two by phone. Order was ready on time, it was excellent quality, generous portions, very tasty and not overly expensive. In many respects as good as we have had on the mainland. Well done Golden Dragon.
Chinese Restaurant is a joke to my eyes nothing is even close to that.
Even worse is that they even destroy their dishes by mixing it up with other cultures.
Last but the most important feedback is we tasted rotten sprouts in our food so it was a charity case for the bin.

The staff are friendly, though seem to change on an all too frequent basis. Unusual for a so called 'Chinese' restuarant they offer no pork dishes at all, which is a big omission. Sadly the chicken is sometimes tasteless apart from the sauces, and often of a peculiar and rather unpleasant texture rather like wet polystyrene. The different sauces are not very distint and are all rather similar, in being overly sweet and heavily laced with monosodium glutamate. Prices though not cheap are consistent for Islay.
Worst takeaway food we have ever tasted!
Absolute disgusting!
There must be some business minded people who could provide good takeaway food on Islay.
