We found the Glenurquhart House Hotel when we searched through a gift voucher booklet to book an Afternoon Tea for two, otherwise we would have probably never found this hidden gem. The Hotel lies on a hillside overlooking the river Enrick. It is a cozy, quiet set of buildings, surrounded by several little outdoor spaces and benches where you can sit and enjoy the view. ||Two ladies warmly welcomed us when we arrived, and served us a generous Afternoon Tea, including one of the best teas we have ever had. We spent nearly three hours in the Tearoom while the Restaurant was prepared for dinner in the next room. It felt very much like staying at a traditional scottish Inn from an old movie. We absolutely loved it.
Can’t comment on the hotel as we didn’t stay there, staying locally so decided to give restaurant a go for evening meal. Restaurant was clean and Covid safe and the waitress was attentive and pleasant, all going well until we got our food, the menu we were provided with bares no resemblance to the menu quoted on the website, we ordered Focaccia bread for starter, edible is about as kind as I can be. The pizza was awful, pre bought, deep bases (I’m guessing frozen) with toppings over covered with cheese, took me back to my school days, I think looking at some of the older reviews, they may have had a change of chef! No self respecting Italian would have served this and passed it off as home made, the waitress didn’t seem surprised when we left most of it!!
Supper for my daughter’s birthday. Tapas was fantastic and the host was so kind and helpful including a cake for my daughter ????||Well made small plates of Italian and Spanish inspired tapas.||||Definitely worth a visit, please make sure you visit.
We stayed on the car park in our motorhome and ate in the restaurant. Jenny looked after us very well all evening and the food was delicious. I had a tuna steak which was not cooked enough ( for my taste) I asked for it to be cooked a little longer but they cooked my whole meal again. They went above and beyond. Highly recommended.
This beautiful property has to be the loveliest in the Loch Ness area and is available at a very reasonable price. The main house features a library, a lounge complete with log-burning fireplace and ample seating, a full bar, and an exceptional restaurant.
Our room looked brand new and surely had been professionally decorated. It offered a refrigerator, a coffee and tea making station, a huge bright bathroom with a tub/shower, and a stunning view of a misty loch. The breakfast was delicious and came hot from the kitchen to our table. The lamb dinner I ordered one night was outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed the lady who acted as our hostess and bartender.
We were staying close by and chose to eat at this wonderful establishment. They even came to pick us up and there were 10 of us, so were willing to do a ferry service. The food was exquisite absolutely recommend a stop for an evening meal. Wonderful and some of us are thinking of staying there next time we are visiting this marvellous area of Scotland.
Dreadful, tasteless, unimaginative, overpriced vegan pasta meal. Bizarrely, served wrapped in foil, presumably to keep it hot! Didn’t! Pasta served with a watery tomato sauce with a few undercooked vegetables and a few sad, hardly cooked cherry tomatoes. No flavouring, herbs whatsoever! Seeing as this was meant to be an Italian restaurant, this was surprising. Complained to the waitress who said she would tell the chef. I hope she does before the chef attempts any other vegan meals!||My partner had a vegetarian pasta - nothing special for the money she said. ||My daughter had the same as me - her opinion? Awful!||Restaurant needs better heating too, bit cold.
In summary, lovely people, interesting place and great food
Interesting place to stay in specialy if you looking for a place between Inverness the city and fort William
Carol was more than lovely and she would hesitate on helping you on any support you require
