The Glenfinart Caravan Park proofed to be the perfect spontaneous two-night stay in our situation. |After heavy rainfalls we weren't able to reach our holiday destination at Loch Goil due to several road closures and we came across this caravan park right at Ardentinny beach. Tho we stumbled upon it far in the evening, the owner was very friendly and helpful and directly offered us one of the biggest caravans for six people. The houses were equipped with modern furniture and had everything we needed for two nights and days. From three bedrooms over two bathrooms to a kitchen, dinner table and living room.|We felt welcomed in a difficult situation and it made the rainy days until we finally reached our destination less stressful.
Not a Chalet as stated!! Shocking!!!! Mud bath, building site damaged my car,! Kids couldn't play outside the van, didn't get the van I booked either!! Very outdated and not very clean either! My son took one of seat cushions off chair and omg never seen so much dust and hair mixed together ???? no iron etc as stated! No cleaning products, kitchen floor was sticky and my bed seemed like it had been used ???? clean bedding has a certain feel. Beach was nice only 5 min away and the ride home was awesome ????would I go back? NOT A CHANCE!!! Apparently no refund can be given at this time, a part refund would have been better than nothing!! It was the 1st time I'd took my 2 kids away on my own too so it was ment to be a treat after everything we've been through, we were going to go Blackpool but they made it sound so good I though we'd go here instead, big mistake!!!! I would have gave it 0Stars it wouldn't let me!!! They don't care as long as they get their money!!! Nothing to do, no where to eat no shop so be warned!!!!
This is a beautiful place and is very clean. The rooms are very good with nice views out of windows and there are clean. The service is very good and the location is excellent because close by is a beach and a lots of walk in the many forests there are and it is warm in the houses also Dunoon is only a 25m drive but it is a good place with lots of restaurants and coffee and lots of gift shops. Over all it is a very good place
.Spent a week at this Caravan Park in June, weather was great sunshine for the duration. We cannot thank Hazel and Alan and their staff for the help and consideration they gave to us as we are disabled. All went the extra mile to help create memories. The accommodation was spick and span the linen almost cleaned to hospital standards. So cannot agree with previous comments. Our grand children played happily on site and made their own enjoyment after all it is a site of peace and tranquilly no Hussle and bustle - ideal to rest. Yes there were midges around, but we expected them in Scotland.. But no planted bed bugs or mosquitos. Enjoyed the wildlife especially the red squirrels who visited us daily. Counting the weeks until we get back.
We stayed in “Essence” and it was lovely! Very well appointed with excellent uninterrupted views of the loch. Had wifi and a dishwasher! Getting to it was a bit of a challenge due to the single track road heading down from the north. The road south of the park was easier to navigate. The local beach was a short walk and very lovely. Laundry facilities on site. No idea where the nearest grocery store was but suspect it was a fair way. Be sure to shop before you get there! The staff were lovely checking us in and showing us everything, but it was a little tough to find where to check in since our satnav brought us in the back entrance. Not sure what other facilities are available onsite as we weren’t told but I’m sure we could have asked.
Stayed here for 4 nights with my my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and 2 adult friends. We stayed in 1A which is the very first caravan on the right in front of the small waterfall.
It was very clean inside. Despite being bit crammed we were quite comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean.
Good wifi connections were available. Heaters were excellent. There was no washing machine in the caravan we stayed.
I feel we got a better place as we had lawn in front and away from others giving us privacy. It was next to the road, but that was fine, there were hardly any traffic.
Cleanest ever rooms, stunning location with dozens of scenic locations every direction you go. Water in the forms of lochs, sea, brooks and a waterfall right at the entrance! And several beaches nearby.
Hills, valleys, forests, flocks of deer and other wildlife and on and on. Just at the doorstep.
It's staggering that not more visitors frequent this area especially as it was August Bank Holiday weekend when we visited.
If coming from Glasgow way, remember to shop for supplies in Glasgow as the nearest shop is 8 miles away. A convenience store at a petrol station. If coming from Dunoon way then shop in Dunoon. Then go, relax and enjoy some of the best ever scenery in a luxurious caravan.
Beautifully rural without feeling isolated. The people working are exceptionally friendly and the caravan is beautifully clean and spacious. Will definitely be returning
