Such a perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Bala Lake/Llyn Tegid. A lovely, clean and comfortable apartment equipped with a multi-purpose oven/microwave/grill and a slow cooker (no hob but no problem at all). Best of all, a view from the balcony that we just can’t get enough of, and private access to the lake shore for relaxing or swimming.
What an excellent place with stunning balcony views! It is a gem on Bala lake. Our balcony view was just breath taking. We stayed in Arenig for a week from 7th June. the place was very clean, immaculate and self-contained. From Toasre to Combine Oven and omelet maker to haid dryer ......The owners were very welcoming and considerate. The place is very well positioned for day trips to places like Vernewy Lake, Portmireon, Betws-Y-Coed, ..... . It takes 25 mins to walk to the town. We had a smashing relaxing time and we thank the owners for their hospitality. We will definitely go back at some point.
Have stayed here a couple of times, hosts very welcoming and happy to give you any information about the local area.
Easy to park, very relaxing overlooking the lake. Close enough to walk into town, but far away enough to be very peaceful.
Plenty of space inside, everything you need for a short stay including a coffee pod machine, its a nice touch with the smart tv's to be able to watch Netflix! Will happily book again!
Morning, Day, Night the lake is beautiful, stillness of the lake in the morning is almost like a mirror, during the day you can see sail boats, possibly planes flying overhead, sounds of the steam train, in the night if there are no clouds great views of the stars!
We had an excellent couple of days here. The location is amazing and the views are beautiful. The owners were really lovely, welcoming and provided us with lots of information on things to do in the local area. The suite is really spacious - perfect to come back to rest after a walk up the mountains! We had a really relaxing stay. If you have a clear night on your stay, head out on the balcony at night to see the stars - the lack of light pollution makes it a fantastic spot to stargaze. Overall, fantastic stay - we’ll hopefully be visiting again soon.
We’ve just left our wonderful stay in Bala. Robert and Anne were great hosts and were more than happy to offer any local advice on walks and places to eat etc. The room Arenig, is on the same floor as the hosts so no stairs, straight in from the walkway. Impeccably clean and the best but the balancing with the views which on our last night were incredible. Few appliances in the kitchen of which we never actually used other than a kettle and toaster. We walked into Bala for food most of the time, about 1.5 mile walk (around 30mins). So many food choices and lots of lovely shops too. Bala itself is a lovely place to visit but a great base for cycling, walking snowdon and surrounding areas, even a swim if your brave enough........we did and it was very cold but excellent little area down from the suites down to the lake. Very easily accessible. Overall a wonderful break away and if we were to return to the area we would definitely look to stay at Glan-y-gro and maybe try out another suite.
Lake Tegid (or Bala Lake to us from across the border) is so beautiful, set in amongst the foothills of Snowdonia, and this is a perfect place to stay and experience the area. From our initial welcome to our last day the service was exceptional with just the right amount of interaction for a self catering holiday where the owners are on site. The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen facilities, whilst limited due to the the size of the room, were all that we needed to prepare breakfast each day and the odd other meal when we preferred to stay in. Being on the water front with the views from the balcony is what made the holiday just right for us. We will be back.
The location right on the lake was the crowning glory of our stay. The views were lovely and we were even lucky enough to see the otters. The weather was mixed so our opportunities of sitting on the balcony were limited, but it’s a great space to sit and admire the views and spot the wildlife. |Our hosts couldn’t do enough to help even carrying our belongings down to our room to which the stairs down were unexpected as it says ground floor. |The only drawback for me were the cooking facilities as there was no hob, but we knew about this and I had to get a bit creative. |All in all a lovely stay and we would consider a return trip sometime.
We have visited twice in the last couple of months and will be going back again - many times. The lovely Rob and Ann make sure you have the peace and quiet we all need sometimes. The suites are perfect, very clean and space for everything. And in these times of Covid, the self-catering aspect is ideal. Watching the sun come up in the morning whilst lying in bed is a great start to every day. A great location for visiting places in North Wales, including Portmerion - only 40 minutes away - a lovely drive. If you want to relax and get away from everything - this is the place for you.
