Appoint availability is few and far between, and seeing your personal GP is unlikely. Booking is OK with Klinik, but with no human interaction it can be hard to convey your situation. GPs seem nice and friendly, and investigate the right things according to hospital doctors. However, tests and revisits to discuss test results are extremely spread out, this means weeks waits for initial appointments, then weeks waits for test appointments, then weeks waits for results, then weeks waits to get a GP appointment to discuss results. So, you can be waiting a LONG time for diagnoses and further investigations.
Have been a Patient of the Surgery since moving to the area over 40 years ago not long after starting Senior School. The Doctors are really good but the main problem since they merged is the waiting on the phone sometimes a hour.
Great service - was seen by a nurse within 90 mins of creating the appointment on Klinik. Had my prescription 30 mins later.
Came here yesterday, managed to get an on the day appointment. I saw Dr Joshi, who was really kind, professional and patient. I felt as though he really listened to my concerns.
Reception team were really nice and managed to get me an appointment very quickly.
Would definitely recommend :)
Went to the surgery today to see the nurse. A nurse called Catherine ( or Katherine) came to the waiting room and showed me to the room. She was very friendly, understanding and took the time to listen. She was very professional. If there were more people like her people would find it easier to go to appointments.. She is a very kind caring lady. Thank you.
Bridge view medical really might as well just close down. You cannot get through to anyone by phone and are not allowed to go to the actual surgery to try to get an appointment either.
I received a text message saying to book a gp appointment to review my regular prescription request. Do you think I can get through? No, not a chance. I've tried their 'e-consult service' they keep pushing people to, and get no response from that either, even when I chase it up.
Do we actually have any doctors in Bedminster????
It is actually tempting to sell our house and move to a different part of Bristol just so we can actually see a doctor when we get asked too.
Bloody useless.
Well, here goes:
I had trouble with my eyes, rang the surgery, got through eventually after ringing all morning.
Spoke to the person on the other end. Told her I thought I might have scratched my eye-ball.
She said: go to your local Pharmacy, they will look in your eye and see if you need to come here to the surgery. OK I said, quite often pharmacy can be helpful. However, pharmacy had foreign pharmacists who had no idea what I was talking about. Said, they could not help and to go to Specsavers around the corner NOW… I know this is not going to work, but I go to Specsavers as advised, they have no idea why I think they would examine my eye there and then, but could fit me in in 4 weeks time.
I said ‘thank you very much’ and left.
Long and short of this is… I took myself to The Eye Hospital, where after not too long a wait, I was given a thorough eye examination and the problem identified and I was given eye drops.
I left a happier person than when I went in.
So, in my experience of local surgeries, unless you are very bloody lucky, go straight to the top hospitals.
Eye, BRI. Walk-in Centres. (Twice I have had to do this). You may take a fair time getting seen but you will get best treatment.
I can’t see the point of having local surgeries at all. You are on their list and they get paid for you, but you do not get the treatment you pay for there.
Never used to be like this. ????
If you sign up for this GP, you will lose all faith in the NHS. Better off going to A&E than making an appointment. Everytime I call i'm a minimum of 40 in the queue, doesn't matter if it's 9AM or 10.30.
Might aswell just close this GP down because they clearly aren't capable of handling the catchment area they provide for.
