Everytime I come to Barnsley I come here for chips and fish bites for my kids. Chips are always good quality and the fish is too. Tables were grubby when I last went and the lady who served me was quite abrupt but the gentleman was nice.
Good value for money also
Chips were cold and greasy as hell, fish was 90% batter and was also greasy and tasteless, will not be going here again, absolute waste of £8.55

Boss man severed me with a smile got they fish and chips and they were amazballs rlly good chippy and class service
Dirty went in for the famous cone if chips the young guy was washing his mouth out in a sink used for food stuff then wiped his mouth on a t-towel and there was a pigeon in the shop on the fryers looking at home.
When I said something guy was agreadive and the other seated customers left as well.
Might be cheap but hygiene is like a 3rd world countries.

The fish and chips were excellent, best we have had in ages
The waitress was friendly and cheerful.
The only negative point was the long wait for both courses. Having to ask how long each course would be.
If the waiting time was reduced to an acceptable level it would be 5 star
Garys fisheries is a good place to visit make lovely chips and the service is very good l am definitely going to Gary's fisheries again it completed my day in Barnsley a great place to visit
I have been here twice and regretted it each time. Service is slow and there seems to be severe communication issues between staff taking orders and the ones doing the cooking, as well as with keeping track of who has ordered what (for context, there were 3 customers with small orders, so hardly rushed off their feet). My take away order was very nearly given to someone else.
I cannot vouch for their sit down service as I haven't used it, nor do I plan to.
There are better chippies in town.
