Juicy fish, great portion of chips, delicious curry, friendly staff. The best place for fish and chips! Can't get better than this!
Fantastic food prepared and served by warm and welcoming people at a very reasonable price! Frydays has become a weekly tradition for my family since moving to the area.

Wednesday lunch time visit for mini fish, chips and peas. Service was acceptable albeit not very hospitable. It costs nothing to be pleasant, and after all, this is the hospitality sector. But nevertheless, the service was 'ok'.
Ref the food, chips were ok, peas were ok, but nothing special. The fish however was with soggy batter and didn't taste fresh. Lots of grease in my polystyrene carton. I deliberately have my order open/ ready to eat, to keep the batter and chips crispy. My fish was ready made in the warmer, but my colleagues was cooked fresh, which was also soggy on completion and no different to mine.
Would I go again?- Yes, but I would only have chips and peas/ gravy. I wouldn't risk anything with batter. Now let's compare it to the competition:
Alrewas chippy - best fish, can't fault it, nice chips but grumpy service.
Marlin, Oakthorpe- was my number 1, but Alrewas fish slightly better. Marlin, great fish, great chips , good service, Queens, Winshill- Ok but nothing special, but better than Frydays
Hillcrest, Midway- Ok, but doesn't compare to Alrewas or Marlin

The closest fish shop to us but with many nearby we're happy they're so close. Plenty of the usual variety plus chicken and Doner kebab, good stuff.
Best chip shop in burton area. Good price and fantastic food. Highly recommend ????
Absolutely disgusting fish was oozing in grease and tasted like it had been re heated . The doner meat was absolutely vile stone cold burnt to the max and the chips was soggy and some tasted like they haven't been cooked. Really disappointed as we used to use this chippy a lot but they have gone massively downhill and I definitely wont be back
