I shop here usually at least once a week. The deli counter is always full of fresh meats and cheeses which is the main purpose of my visit. Staff are always happy to advise me on what select as I am from England and I don't always know what to choose as the deli selection is predominantly polish origin or Eastern European.
We've been customers here for over a year, and so far so good. That's until today, when I went to the shop to swap a pack of cheese (the big 1kg ones) that had mould inside when I opened it, even though it was still clearly inside the best before date. As soon as I came in, there was an older gentleman (customer) at the till that left all his groceries on top and walked out, moaning to himself. The staff looked a bit clueless, so I'm going to assume the interaction wasn't a happy one. Then, as soon as I see one of the persons available I showed her the cheese and asked what could be done, and got directed to her supervisor, that was doing something on the tinned food section in the back. Get there, and her tone was absolutely wrong through the whole interaction. First of all, insinuating I probably bought it somewhere else and went there for a refund. And that I probably didn't even refrigerate it straight away. I'm actually a certified food handler, as well as kitchen trained so I assured the supervisor that it wasn't the case. Then, she needed a receipt to even assess the situation. I explained I had no clue where the receipt was, but I paid with card and used the store loyalty card and it should be fairly easy to find the transaction. Apparently it's rocket science, because the supervisor got very angsty and borderline rude about the whole thing. It's not because of the £9 of the cheese, it's being treated like a criminal for even raising an issue. I've had my own businesses for many years, most of them in hospitality. This is atrocious service, first for a customer that is fairly frequent (we visited the store every other week at least), spending plenty of money (my average would never go under £40). And there's always a way to check back on the system. It's a fairly straightforward process. You have the total of the transaction, the date and time. Well, not according to the supervisor or the manager that she spoke to over the phone, in a very depreciative tone in regards to the whole situation.
I'm not expecting a refund at all, and truth be told, we're past that. Ever since they changed most of the staff, the service has been hit and miss, but then again, the quality of the charcuterie would more than cover for the lack of service. But not this time.
This was the last time I've spent any of my cash in this place.
I will email them as well, as the whole interaction was ridiculous and even if I'm ignored, at least I'll voice my concerns about how paying customers should be treated in the first place!

Lots of very good quality polish food shop
I went in with a friend to get some of her shopping and it was very nice. I got one of there cakes and my god it was heavily... So now everytime I go up there I have to go back just for the cake!!! Also they do sooo many different types of breakfast cereal that I never new even existed!!! So if you haven't been then go have a look as you never know what little gem you Will come across. Plus it's always nice to try different kinds if food.
This store is well equipped; most products are available. It is possible to order items which are not available.
Friendly service and staff especially at the meat section.

She is very nice, friendly and recommended when buying stuff . She is always smiling.

Good polish shop, way better then the international food shop nearby. Reasonable prices. Very kind staff.
