Richard and his team are something that is hard to find nowadays – reliable and highly informed – and having had appalling experiences elsewhere, including nearly losing our other car in a fire at another garage just over the border – we count myself as 'experienced in bad experiences'… Richard says it exactly how it is – no more and no less – he doesn't create work as he doesn't need to, his full yard speaks for itself. He even tells us not to get certain jobs done until next year, or another given time if he thinks it is vital – we consider this very good value, as having paid through the nose for appalling service we can see how lucky we actually are having found Flimwell Garage

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!
I have used Flimwell Garage for a few years and spent a lot of money there.
However! I took my car to Richard at the beginning of October 2020 for an engine problem.
He diagnosed the problem after a couple of weeks, gave me a quote and I agreed for the repair works to be carried out.
Weeks went by, I was patient due to the pandemic, the garage was still operating but very busy.
After 5 months of chasing for a completion date and being fobbed off week after week, I called yet again and was told the car still wasn’t done!
I mentioned to him I have consumer rights at which point Richard became quite aggressive and put the phone down on me!!
I spoke to Citizens Advice about the issue and wrote 3 letters over a staggered period of time to try and resolve the issue. Including a request for an invoice in each letter.
He didn’t respond to any of the letters, he is NOT part of a motor trade association or a dispute resolution scheme.
I have now had to go through the Motor Ombudsman and I am hoping to get things resolved.
In the meantime my car has been with Richard for over 10 months sitting in the yard deteriorating!!
It is very unprofessional, extremely disappointing and very stressful. The car is probably worthless now.
PS: I also got a quote from Mercedes Benz for the same work at a later date, Richard quoted over twice the price!! Wish I had gone with a main dealer in the first place, this nightmare would never have happened.
Outstanding local garage we have used for over 20 years, here and at previous location. The service we have had from Richard and his staff has always been excellent, friendly and approachable with clear information. Very reasonable pricing. Used by lots of people we know due to it being so good. Could not recommend higher.
Richard tells you how it is. Very knowledgeable and provides an amazing service. Will be going back for both our vehicles.
