I lived in Stoke Newington my whole life and can say since the changing of owners this place has come a long way. Fish and chips was incredible haven’t had fish and chips like this in a very long time. Can’t forget to mention the hot wings juicy crispy will 100% recommend. I’ve had issues with the old owners but since the change can’t say nothing but good about them. Customer service is amazing, staff are very kind and conversational. Can’t forget to mention the cleanliness of this location. Haven’t been to a fish and chips that’s this clean in the area. And last but not least the pricing. Prices in this location are great. Portions they give you is very respectable finally a fish and chips that gives you your moneys worth!! If you’re in the area or looking for somewhere to eat Fish on the Green is your place.
As a local resident I’m very familiar with the shop and since noticing the ownership has changed I thought to give it another try. I can say I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and noticed a massive change in quality of food. Your standard fish and chips there is one of the best quality fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. As a local resident I’m really happy the ownership changed and they’ll definitely be seeing me again soon!!
Magnificent. Since the new owners took over the place has been going gangbusters, and you only need to try the food to see why. The fish cuts are excellent but more importantly - they're using fresh oil daily. The new owners go out of their way to seat people (the old owners treated customers as a necessary evil rather than the core of the business), and take pride in their food and the surroundings. This is now the go-to place for a hot meal on the green.
Great new owners, really improved the place. Service and food is amazing. Really recommend visiting here. Especially after a Arsenal Game.
When I saw that the name had changed, I wanted to try it. We went as a family and were very pleased. My children ate chicken chips and my husband ate fish and chips. We loved it and recommend it to everyone.
Was in the area so gave it a try. Not a very welcoming place and quite expensive for small portions. my verdict Chips 1* drink 1* sausage in batter 0* service 0* overall cost 0*
Staff are wonderful very carasmatic and full of energy. Place looks quite dated . They have a fish tank. They wear covid ppe and have social distancing guides on the floor and sometimes the queue goes as far as outside the shops. I live the chips from this place along with the hot wings. I would rather come here for my chicken rather than a chicken shop. The fish is pretty standard to me
Haven't been to this place in a long time, due to the previous owner's being difficult.
HOWEVER, the good news is that there is a new owner who took over a couple of weeks ago at the start of June, The old owners are gone.
The new owner is a pretty chilled out guy, and he wants to improve and bring back the reputation of Paradise.
The staff members were also polite and friendly.
Tonight I had the best fish and chips from there for a very long time.
Got two cod, large chips, curry sauce and pickled gherkins. They warmed curry sauce which got burnt, they instantly replaced it with a fresh batch.
You want to know how the food tasted, it was fantastic, the chips were cooked from fresh and the Cod was cooked recently. Again, it all tasted great.
Honestly, it's good to have a good local fish and chips shop again.
