Great fish and chips as it was crunchy and had a proper portions. You can pair with their bbq or mustard sauce (add £0.2). They also provide tea, coffee as beverage for £1.5.
A fast food establishment. It's not bad, but you shouldn't come to life too much from the kitchen.
the meal was delicious, but I found at least ten fishbones in my fish and it was very oily. Expect a queue as it is quite a popular place and that´s the reason whey they are in such a hurry. The fish was packed straight from the fryer without it having had a chance to drain properly.
I was very disappointed with the fish & chips we had. I had been attracted by an online recommendation and the average rating of the establishment. Perhaps this was partly due to the charming little port of Portree where it is located? In any case, I didn't like it at all: way too fatty, way too much salt added on top of the fries, not much taste. And far too expensive for what it is. Moreover, they only accept cash... I guess this method of payment offers unparalleled advantages... I won't be back.
This is a place for takeaway only as they pump out fish and chips at an unbelievable record.
I highly recommend coming here. My wife and I stopped by here and ate at the lake. We only got one order of fish and chips and it was plentiful. I thought the taste was really food, the fish was fresh without that "fishy" smell or taste. I highly recommend a visit to this place!
They do cash only so make sure you bring cash.
Fish and chips were DELICIOUS for the first five minutes before everything started turning to mush. Perhaps I should have eaten faster haha before the oils from the fish batter leaked down to the chips. It would have been even more delicious with more vinegar sprayed on and more salt. Pity we had to pay extra for each sauce packet. Service was quite slow but there were only 2 employees in the tiny tiny chipper so patience is a virtue. Take out only.
10.50 for a greasy fish and chips that made me sick ( because of the excess of grease). Also they asked 20p per sauce while in the other fish and chips shop they are nicer and they give sauce for free and it is cheaper ( we tried both of the shops). You can't dine in and there is no table outside or any place to avoid the rain.
£10.5 good quality fish , salt & vinegar were very carefully sprinkled & sprayed evenly on chips and then fish , the batter was crispy & well seasoned !!! Must try in Portree ????
