To give this place one star is a travesty as a traditional chippy it deserves a minus star rating it is absolutely shocking what the owner FOG classes as any kind of food had chips & a meat & potato pie today absolutely shocking the added picture is the chips i threw in the bin. shocking how this place is still open.
What was once a decent chippy has gradually declined week on week since it was taken over. Chips are terrible so hard and dry it was like they had been cooked a week last Tuesday. No point complaining he sort of agrees with you but doesn’t appear to want to change. Save your money and go elsewhere !
OMG I agree worst chips ever had, took me ages to find a decent one. Boss i saw kept picking dropped stuff off the floor to throw in bin. Then he handled a meat pie for a customer. Of course no gloves or hand washing. I did go about 6 months ago and as above, thought try them again. Horrible
It appears that the owner has misinterpreted the consumer rights payment surcharges 2012 legislation that was updated in 2018, banning the addition of a surcharge for use of a domestic debit or credit card & electronic money such as Gpay when purchasing your lunch. They are adding a charge for using such means, there is a sign at the till informing you of this, but, having re visited the legislation after being charged again today, it appears that this is not allowed & should be stopped immediately. When politely confronted about this, the owner was very aloof & quoted business costs as the reason. I was a new regular customer but alas, no more. Add that to your business costs.
I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but I'm absolutely SHOCKED at what this chippy have just passed me as 'chips'! They was literally IN-EDIBLE!! Pretty sure they was left over from last night! Stale, brown, old chips, I'd actually be embarrassed to pass them to a customer.
Just had chips and gravy from here and I have to say it was vile we walked out leaving it all it was inedible, chips looked Lillie they had been heated up twice and was hard and burnt. The place looked like it needed a deep clean it was filthy what a Real let down and very disappointed. We will never go there again and I don’t normally leave reviews but this time it was that bad it needed one.
Visited a couple of times to get breakfast for the office. Spot on, food always good very reasonable price too. Will be back for more.
Worst chippy I’ve ever been to the muck and hairs on the counter and under it is horrendous
Get about 5 chips will not be returning
