I am a sucker for non-chain cafes and small places and this fits the bill. We went here as we were looking for a cheap meal and this is what the Google algorithm spat out to us.
Upon entering we were greeted with a bustling seating area, which is always a good sign, full of locals and regulars as they were chatting away with the servers. We found our seat and the waitress offered to either take our order now or when we had sat down.
We sat down and we were amazed at the incredible value of the menu. Now cheap ess nowadays usually means low quality but we nonetheless ordered and our expectations were blown away. I ordered the fish special and every element of the meal was sublime. The fish was fresh with a light, crispy batter and fresh chips which were crisp.
The quality of the food far surpassed the value. If you are looking for a great value meal in Rhyl with high quality food - come here.
Fantastic food awesome friendly staff
Bit dirty and back street but gave it 4* for service and food. Fish was lovely, chips fresh and tasty. Bread bit dry. Limited coffee choice but did have decaf. Portions were OK but fish was so nice could have eaten twice. Heinze and HP sauce make a good choice, not cheap alternatives.
What a great little find on a Sunday afternoon ???? Was looking for fish and chips and we weren't disappointed, lovely food and reasonably priced and the service was second to none ????
Food was lovely would have said 4 stars but had to go to the toilet and might have even gone down to 2 stars . Disgusting toilets and a grotty staircase to go to them . Such a shame .
Good food for the price point. Servers were friendly but inexperienced in my opinion. Ordered food with a scrambled egg, came out fried (not a issue just preference at the time).
Ordered 2 cups of tea, arrived at the table ready done with milk in. Fine for us but would have been nice and attentive of staff to ask how we take our tea. Strong/weak, black/white etc.
Only minor gripes but would just help improve the overall experience.
The cafe was dog friendly which is great to see.
Two adults and two children ate for less than a tenner and it was fantastic, the service from the two gentlemen was great, my pushchair fell over and they leapt to help, very polite as well. Food was cooked fresh and the chips were golden as if fresh oil was used. Kids meals £1.70 with very generous portion and a carton of pop as well. Will definitely visit again and I can't recommend enough. Thank you for welcoming us to Rhyl.
Fish batter was light and crispy. And it was dog friendly.
