Firade min mammas födelsedag på Fig & Olive i februari i år och blev tyvärr mycket besvikna. Hade hört mycket gott om restaurangen i förväg och förväntningarna var höga från alla i sällskapet, dock levde varken servicen eller maten upp till dem. Vår dryckesbeställning blandades ihop med ett annat bord och även en vinflaska vi beställt glömdes bort, personalen kändes tyvärr amatörmässig. Förrätterna var ok. Köttet jag beställde till huvudrätt var torrt och när jag påpekade detta fick jag till svar att det skulle vara så eftersom jag bett om det medium/well. Jag hade en diskussion med en i personalen om detta och bad om en ny köttbit men det ville de inte ge mig. Stämningen blev obekväm och jag kände mig förödmjukad. Inte heller någon kompensation på notan fick vi gällande köttet. Vi firade som tidigare nämnt en födelsedag och var inställda på att äta en trerätters middag. Om det inte vore för det dåliga bemötandet hade vi kanske beställt efterrätter efter våra för- och huvudrätter, nu ville vi komma därifrån så fort som möjligt. När man ligger i den prisklass som Fig & Olive gör förväntar man sig som kund en viss typ av service och även kvalitet på mat. Sen om man som kund klagar när man inte är nöjd har man som personal ett val att försöka åtgärda problemet eller kompensera på notan, här gjordes inget av det. Nej, vi var som sagt mycket besvikna (främst gällande bemötandet) och kommer inte besöka restaurangen igen.
I always feel I am experiencing a “special & secret“ dinner in a private location when visiting this restaurant, that I am not sure I want to “out”.
We have been coming here for many years now and it is the one place that is consistently exceeding expectation in terms of food and service. The owners are extremely knowledgeable about their fresh produce and wines, plus their staff are also very attentive, you never feel like just a number or holiday maker when coming here.
Upon arrival we were given a complementary appetiser of bread, aioli and olives which was a lovely touch. My husband and I shared the burrata salad, which was an enormous portion with some of the best tomatoes we have experienced, my son went for the chicken skewers that were equally delicious.
We then opted for the fillet steak (perfectly cooked), coq au van (which was presented beautifully) and the chicken saffron risotto, I had been dying to try a risotto all holiday and was not disappointed at all with this, as it was very delicate and so tasty.
Finished off with a lovely bottle of red (chilled to the perfect temperature). I cant wait to return and I hope the husband and wife duo continue with this excellent concept.

What a hidden gem! This is a must try for a special meal if you are anywhere in the area. A little hard to find down the side of some bars and restaurants. But so so worth it! The food was stunning. Fresh, flavoursome and not too expensive either. The staff make the experience so lovely. So friendly and have so many regulars you know it’s consistently good!
Make sure you book as this place looks busy even on a weekday.
We were 4 adults and a toddler and they couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. We will be returning next time we are in Spain. Thank you
