Called in for some brekky. At the site entrance when you arrive at the barrier, you just press the Fenton café button and they answer and raise the barrier for access. 10mph on site speed limit. You just drive to the end and the café and its car park are on the left hand side. The planes, tower, hangers and runways are on the right hand side opposite. You can walk up to the tower and follow the path along the side of the runway, so you get good views of the aircrafts taking off. The café has a verandah with outdoor seating facing the planes too. Friendly and efficient service. Hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams. Reasonably priced menu. When I visited there was a long wait and queue out the door, might have had something to do with the assortment of cars in the car park. As there were a couple of Chevrolets, a handful of good old fashioned classics and then a load of Subarus, for those who like them. This site offers Spitfire flights. I thought ooooo, yesss. Then I clocked the price..... prices start at £2975, yikes. Back down to earth in the caff I had the melted cheese on sourdough. Long arrival time, I had finished my drink by the time it was served, but it was worth the wait. It was a huge portion, wouldn't have bought the slice of cake, had I have known. Very good brekky. Recommended. Interesting venue and the classic cars were an unexpected bonus.
Great cafe for lunch stop. Staff are really helpful and they have an allergy book that you can check for any dietary restrictions. Good food selection with interesting options. We missed the specials boards at first and picked from the menus on the tables. Do check the boards.
The fish in the butty was really well cooked. Pizzas looked great but didn't try - next time. The tuna salad was generous with the tuna but light on the leaves.
Love this cafe! Such a lovely area, the staff are great and the food is amazing. If you want to get to the cafe, you have to go to the right hand side and press the buzzer for the cafe and they let you in. Lots of parking and great way to watch the aircrafts.
Stopped here with our car club for breakfast and hot drinks.
The breakfast was excellent, the staff very accommodating for our little group.
Fantastic cafe slightly off the beaten track but we'll worth it.
Very pleasant setting & nice food. Staff were efficient & friendly. Not sure what teabags they use but they are top notch. One suggestion would be a slightly expanded menu including a few more veggie options (veggie burger, pasta dish, etc). Cakes etc looked excellent and will try next time.
First visit today, don't be put off by the barrier just through the main gate, just need to sign in time, car reg, name.
Anyway brilliant breakfast, fast service and good quality products used. Black pudding included ????

A cafe with great staff. Previously it had pictures which reflected it's aviation heritage. Now sadly , it is painted a dark , drab colour which has made it completely souless. Needs a makeover to make it more welcoming. This is purely MY opinion , compared to how I remember it.
